Switching to db0
  • Well shit... I guess this was lemmy for me then, dbzer0 already blocked mujico (can't blame them for doing it) and I'm tired of looking for instances every time something in the fediverse happens.

  • Twitter, Reddit, Unity, Blizzard... who else?
  • That would require for bots to actually be tagged as bots and I've seen a couple that aren't (it's more like people use their account normally but also use some script linked to an RSS feed to post things as soon as they come out).
Also I don't want to block ALL the bots, and blocking those specific accounts would kill the feed for some commuties (mostly things like "news") since nobody else posts but bots or scripted accounts (since people see those accounts posting everything, there's no incentive for anyone else to contribute).

That's why I'd like to see lemmy without bots or automatic posts, just people sharing what they actually like and not what other sites tell the bots we must see something.

  • Twitter, Reddit, Unity, Blizzard... who else?
  • Yet we are full of bots that repeat "content" in communities without taking into account how federation works (or that they might be on the same instance already).
It would be worth trying to shut them down for a while (a week?) and see how much the feeds curate themselves.

At least I think it would lower the musk-spam and tech news might actually be news and not social news about billionares or companies.

  • How big is your guys' wishlists?
  • Mine has less than 15 games, most don't interest me and I think I haven't added any game in 3 years or more.
Also I delete games every now and then when I check it and decide I don't really care about any of them anymore.

  • How many people actually dropped Reddit for Lemmy?
  • FYI r/Mexico is currently managed by chairos, they even banned that word and kks (among others) so nobody can make fun or critize the current political party in power, they manipulate the posts so some news or articles can't be posted.

    The subs I check are

    spoiler

    r/POLACA, r/animexico, r/ayudamexico, r/BuildaPCSalesMexico, r/CDMX, r/confleis, r/DerechoMexicano, r/Gelatina, r/lacamiseta, r/Memesbuenaonda, r/Mexicanos, r/MexicanPeopleTwitter, r/Mexico_FactCheck, r/Mexico_News, r/MexicoCity (I think this one is doing questionable things lately, not sure), r/Mexicowave, r/MexiJobs, r/NopalTech, r/privacidadmx, r/TechoBlanco, r/TechoNegro

    .
Just like the mexican communities in here, most of them are dead subs and I don't really post anything anymore, just check a couple things from time to time.
I used to check r/memexico buuuut... the humor became too cringe too quick and the mods share the "it's a meme, laugh" mentality, so finding "haha women" or "haha wokeness" became the norm... not even in a funny way, just in an incel kind of way.

  • Also the lack of showers, acting it, referencing it and trying to force it into every aspect at any moment.
Basically the same problems any other big fanbase has, they make it their whole personality and refuse to understand why others might not care about it, dislike it or get tired of hearing about it non-stop.

And for the love of humanity... Hygiene and caring (even a little) about presentation (clothes, etc) goes a long way, I don't know why most fanbases have this problem.
