  • Ya, they give names for the robbers. Lol. I remembered they had a guy named The Valentine bandit. Because he first robbed his first branch on Valentine's Day. Some of them get silly names like Fake Limp man.

Most robberies are very discreet. Mine was just a note and flashed a gun.

Also note to any would be robbers. You don't need a weapon. We always comply. A few bucks is not worth our lives. Also if you even show a weapon or implied you have one, you literally increase your charge from robbery to robbery with a deadly weapon which just increased your jail sentence 5 times.

  • Obviously I don't know for sure. But there are plenty of videos of the shooter and plenty of videos of Luigi hitting on a girl, but no videos of evidence combining these videos together. Where is the video of Luigi leaving the hostel and prepping his get away and then shooting the CEO?

  • Sometimes they have the plate numbers. But we sorta know when someone is coming in to do bad things by the way they are driving into the parking lot.

Most drivers slowly pull into a parking lot. Find a spot near the branch door. Gather their stuff. Slowly walk to the branch doors.

A bank robber drives into the lot very fast. Doesn't bother finding a spot. Rushes out the door and is constantly looking around.

I only been robbed once and prevented a handful of times. We caught the girl who robbed me because we recognized her.

I remember being a teller and we would play games guessing what people were coming into do. Talk to a banker or deposit or cashing a check.

  • I used to work at the bank and bank robbers are almost always caught. Not because they didn't get away from robbing the bank. It's because once they do it once they continue robbing banks and one day they will get caught.

We regularly get reports for bank robbers that hit a branch. They typically hit another close branch, but we lock our doors the second they pull up.

  • I have been jaded enough that I'm sort of numb to it now. I'm only working towards my retirement. Office gossip, dynamics, culture means nothing to me. 90% of my job is optics. The rest is real work. My only job is to try and keep my job as long as possible and nothing more.

  • I worked on a 6 month project. At month 5, they said they are not renewing even tho they need the position.

My team fought the VP and said if I don't continue it would be detrimental to the project.

She renews me for another 6 months and makes me fly to an off-site to present at an mbr.

The VP proceeds to cancel my contract the day I land in San Francisco. Because she doesn't want a remote worker anymore and wants this person to come in 4 days a week.

Corporate doesn't care about you. You need to be selfish because nobody will care about you otherwise.

  • Please try not to overthink it. This lady had every opportunity to walk away but enjoyed your company.

As long as you're not grabby/feelie you're good.

I'm a very social person that works in marketing. My job works directly with engineers with 0 social skills and we are close enough that they express the same type of concerns as you.

Again, don't overthink it. Unless you're a superior, your coworker can leave your presence at anytime b

  • My bro in law sells boba tea supplies from Taiwan to all your favorite boba tea stores.

He had a container that he was about to send but cancelled it because his margin is less than 10% and his stores he supports also runs a lean margin.

Last week he decided to close one of his warehouses in Portland, letting go of 20 people and a few hundred stores that depend on him.

When asked why he doesn't just up the price, he said that if he did, the mass majority of the stores he supports won't make it and the Oregon warehouse is barely breaking even.

Funny thing about him is that he sat out this election and now he regrets it.

  • More stable, haha. I was just randomly surfing around and my computer goes to sleep and can't wake up.

Also randomly, my computer won't go into sleep mode when I close my laptop. It works about 90% of the time, but that 10% is when I pull my laptop out of my laptop bag and my computer is on fire and fans full blast trying to cool itself. The OS came from IBM installed.

  • Real question. Doesn't the computer actually slow down when you have that much memory? Doesn't the CPU need to seek into a bigger vast vs a smaller memory set?

Or is this an old school way of thinking?

  • This is my gaming workflow.

Find game on steam I want to play

    Check pricing history

Pirate game to see if it's worth the current price

If it isn't, I put it on my wishlist and continue playing until it goes on sale.

If the game turns out to be very good, then I buy it when it goes on sale.

  • I have one of those Coke machines on top in my man cave. The root beer stains like crazy. If you run coke through the root beer spout, it will taste like coke with root beer flavor regardless how much you clean or purge the system.
