Does anyone know what this flag means?
  • If you genuinely think trans people aren't being hurt by anyone who carries the anti-trans belief, then I recommend looking up some of the many news articles that details violence against trans people.

I've provided some for you, I genuinely hope that you take the time to read these.

    https://www.aclu.org/legislative-attacks-on-lgbtq-rights-2024

The last one I posted tracks all of the current anti-LGBT legislation that's trying to pass into law. It's not just physical or emotional violence trans and LGBT people face, it's also people trying to enact laws that actively deny their rights as human beings. This isn't exclusive to America either, I got results from all over the world during my search.

You may not be violent in your beliefs, but it doesn't mean others aren't.

  • Felony conviction first thing Trump has earned in whole life
  • "Observers note that earning these felony convictions fly in the face of Trump’s long documented history of never lifting a finger to do real work in his 77 years on this planet. Despite subsisting entirely on family wealth and business connections, having his reputation as a shrewd businessman created out of whole cloth by reality TV producers, and clinching the 2016 presidential election with massive help from Russian cyber operations, Trump has finally earned a criminal conviction entirely on his own."

    Gold.

  • TRUMP GUILTY ON ALL 34 COUNTS
    1. No 2. No, wait, 3. Nah, it's 4. Mm, maybe 5. No, definitely 6. Most likely 7. No, 8 for sure. Oh, 9 perhaps? WAIT! 10 looks good. But so does 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19. Fuuck, 20 is a dime. 21 is a good contender. Hmm, I can't forget about 22, 23, or 24. 25-30 are also contenders. 31 could be it. Oh, it definitely has to be 32. Hold on, 33 is a nice solid number, but it has to be 34, that's how old I am.

  • What the actual fuck is wrong with YOU? Obviously, this person is not in their right mind and not thinking straight. You think speaking to people like this is going to solve anything? If you have such an issue, report the post and block it from your feed instead of whatever the fuck that was. Have some compassion, Christ.

Disgusting that anybody would destroy a person’s life like this
  • I joined Lemmy during the great Reddit exodus and I've been here pretty much since then and to be honest, I never really felt the difference between the two except user count, so it's interesting to hear other people's perspective such as yours.

As to your last point, I think there are a lot of factors, anonymity being the biggest one. Lack of social contracts being another. It's easier to be a jerk behind the screen where you don't have to actually face the real-life consequences of treating people poorly. Compound that with others who encourage and join in on the hate. Sometimes, it's deserved, though more often than not, it isn't. That's just my theory, though.
