maybe that used to be true in the 50s? in today's media landscape you've gotta have a super smooth brain to believe that

New coal mine proposed for BC Rockies
www.victorianow.com New coal mine proposed for BC Rockies

A mining company wants to open a new coal mine in B.C.’s Rocky Mountains to extract, process and export coal in high demand by Asian steelmakers.

I've been to Elkford, BC. It's a beautiful place nestled in Elk Valley. Surrounded by the Rockies on all sides and many hours from any city, it's like being on a different planet. What I remember most was the enormous mines and equipment I drove past jut before entering Elkford.

Would be a shame to further destroy the Elk Valley wilderness with a new mine and the world with the coal extracted from it.

Chinese OEM unveils the world's longest onshore wind turbine blades
www.notebookcheck.net Chinese OEM unveils the world's longest onshore wind turbine blades

At 430 feet (131m), the SY1310A is the latest engineering feat from Sany Renewable Energy that sets the record for the world's longest wind turbine blades on land. The company intends to deploy the blades on its 15 MW turbines, which are set to be the most powerful onshore wind turbines around.

Chinese OEM unveils the world's longest onshore wind turbine blades

    > Durability is the chief concern for wind turbines, and it becomes increasingly difficult with the size and scale of the blades. Courtesy of a thicker airfoil, a reinforced carbon fiber main beam and a metal mesh for lightning protection, Sany's SY310A blades are built to last. And although they aren't 100% recyclable, the trailing edge insert is made of recycled polyurethane structural parts that can be easily circulated after the lifespan of the turbine.

Use of Coal-Fired Power Plants Increases amid Transition to Green Energy

How will global carbon emissions be reduced while coal use in power plants continues to increase? - the Climate Policy Institute introduced its analysis.

Use of Coal-Fired Power Plants Increases amid Transition to Green Energy

    > It is necessary to find cost-effective ways to replace coal with renewables or to be able to use coal and lignite in a climate-friendly way (clean coal technologies, methanol economy, carbon capture, storage, and recycling) to make decarbonization not only an alternative for rich countries, but a truly global option.
