Just revealed Bobby Kotick and Nintendo have had active talks about the next-generation Nintendo console, is close to Gen 8 in power (PlayStation 4 / Xbox One)
  • This console would literally be doing what the Steam Deck already does - and likely charging you again for games you've already played. Why are you happy about their complete stagnation?

Looking forward to playing 10 year old looking games from a team (Nintendo) that will no doubt be selling them for $70? There's so many better ways to spend your time/money..

  • I remain forever pissed that the best way to play BOTW or TOTK is through emulation, since they're being held back to consoles that can't play them consistently at 30fps in 720p.

If Nintendo would give me a legal way to play these, I would happily buy them again on PC! I want to enjoy those brilliant games the way the deserve to be enjoyed..

  • NEW - Via an FTC vs. Microsoft exhibit: In 2019, Microsoft mulled trying to buy Square Enix. Unclear at what level this was pitched, but Phil Spencer gave feedback to the internal proposal
  • Wow that Twitter thread was toxic - people pretending like "greedy" Xbox is one acquisition away from world domination, when all the facts have pointed at Sony making game-level deals to continue dominating Xbox across so many new titles.

Of course Microsoft has considered acquiring other studios - that's what happens in the business world: you consider making purchases of other companies/competition to see if they make business sense to do so. Even Sony has acquired Bungie recently to expand their portfolio of live service games, of which they showed off like 10 at their recent games showcase a month or so ago.
