Quantum 'yin-yang' shows two photons being entangled in real-time
  • Not really. In order to find the wave function you need to measure both particles and compare both sets of superposition info to know that the particles were entangled. The information sharing between Alice and Bob would still have to be through standard means.

  • Ouch
  • Mine told me that I should be a plumber. I took it after graduating college with a degree in Data Science. I kind of wish I did the plumbing thing considering the money they rake in. Problem is that I don’t like crawling in attics and under houses.

  • Group of up to 50 people shoplift about $100K worth of luxury items from L.A. mall; used bear spray against guards
  • This isn't someone stealing food from the grocery store to feed their kids.. But it is a topic being overblown for rich people's benefit.

How is it overblown? It is a real issue with law enforcement in America. People are being permitted to destroy and steal property. We need to get to the root cause of what’s going on their. It’s due to failures on multiple fronts. You can’t just say ignore it because capitalism bad. Capitalism is a founding principle of this country’s economy. You can’t play the card that these people are protesting corruption because others are enriching themselves by stealing goods. That’s not noble in any way and doesn’t help employees.

  • Seattle becomes first in U.S. to protect gig workers from sudden 'deactivation'
  • My DoorDasher picked up my order the other day and went to a mall parking lot and sat there for an hour until the order was cancelled since DD couldn’t get ahold of them. They presumably ate it. They should be deactivated. Bad workers shouldn’t get extra protections.

  • First U.S. nuclear reactor built from scratch in decades enters commercial operation in Georgia
  • I asked for that. In a manner-of-speaking, if you compared by the football field filled in area with barrels of waste. It would be about one for all the annual nuclear waste where turning the byproduct of combustible fossil fuels into just the vapor and ash equivalent would fill thousands. It arguably wouldn’t win from a toxicity perspective. For all the waste in the ocean from Fukushima, the only outcome were that the marine life seemed to have thrived off the low-level radiation.

  • OceanGate's cofounder wants to send 1,000 people to a floating colony on Venus by 2050, and says we shouldn't stop pushing the limits of innovation
  • A large number of probes have been landed on Venus already throughout the 70’s. They were able to take pictures and measure temperature on the surface for about an hour at most. That was over 50 years ago. I’m sure we are capable of constructing machines that can withstand the conditions for much longer now. In 30 years though we might not even deem that necessary and just capture an asteroid and orbit it around the planet and build the base of operations atop that.

  • ‘It’s a pub not a post office!’: Brits slam new trend of ‘single file’ queues in pubs and call for return of tradition
  • They should have a designated queue area, but still maintain those sitting at the bar. Alternate, one order for the seated, one for the queue. If you want to get fancy, replace the queue area with a cubby system and an app. Order from the app, pay, and get a QR code and a cubby number when your drink is ready. QR unlocked your drink cubby. The cubbies can be see through. I should invent this.

  • TestFlight version is currently unstable - use App Store instead if you want
  • You’re doing a great job. It’s amazing how much you get done each release. Keep up the great work.

I’m sure you probably already know this, but tapping comments in the inbox was working fine and now there is a major lag. If you hit it multiple times, it will go to the comment multiple times.

In terms of future features, it would be great if you kept all posts and messages that I start to creat in a draft area in case I am unable to post them at the moment that I create them for any reason.

  • OceanGate's cofounder wants to send 1,000 people to a floating colony on Venus by 2050, and says we shouldn't stop pushing the limits of innovation
  • Venus has similar gravity to Earth. It is just about the same size and density. The atmospheric gasses can be turned into many different kinds of compounds provided enough energy and you could theoretically mine ore from the surface. It is much closer to Earth than mars as well. We recently detected through spectroscopy gasses in the atmosphere that are associated with the byproduct of life, so scientifically, it makes sense to have a science facility above the atmosphere to experiment further. The reality is that it’s more technically achievable to send a facility in orbit around another planet than to build a ground facility. Far less fuel needed. The gases in Venus’s atmosphere might also be able to be used as fuel.

  • UI improvement requests and bugs
    • The number disappears and reappears when voting. This is a bad feel. Can you make it just change the number instantly, even if there is still potentially some behind-the-scenes server processing going on? Also, the vote button itself just slightly changes the arrow color, it would be easier to see and more satisfying if it create a colored-in box around the arrow.
    • Posts with hundreds of comments fail to load the comments. For example, see https://lemmy.world/post/373743. The comments won’t load on that post. Also, when you click into a post, please load the comments instead of making the user have to hit the comments button to load them. I consider a post to be as much about the comments as the post. Many times, I read the comments first.
    • The post cards have rounded edges and gaps between each post, which is a bit distracting. It would be better on my eyes if the user can turn off the rounded card theme and have that screen real-estate used to show more of the post and pictures. All in need to know when the next post has started is a very thin line.
    • Sometimes, the subscribe button doesn’t work.
    • Sometimes, the All feed for an account won’t load and I have to first click on the server itself instead of the All option in order to fix this.
    • Even though the project is young, opening up the Repo and Issue/Enhancement trackers is ideal. This will have the residual benefit of having others contribute potential code suggestions / merge requests in order to make the app get to a production-ready state faster.

    Keep up the good work!

    Feedback and questions

This app is amazing! Tons of the features that I was interested in that other apps are working on are already in yours.

I have some UI feedback, but want to log it to someplace meaningful. I didn’t see it in the About section, but can you add your GitHub link for this project, so bugs and feature requests can be added there? Also, do you have a Matrix or other chat room like Mlem does? I think that would be valuable as well to discuss enhancements, announcements, etc.

    Keep up the great work!
