Fantasty AGE 2nd Edition - What's different?
herdingdice.blogspot.com Fantasty AGE 2nd Edition - What's different?

The second edition of Fantasy AGE is now available! I got the pdf as I was a play tester and I was granted access to a preview pdf two weeks...

I really like the rules to this system. Especially the 3d6 method of rolling

What's your favorite terminal?
  • Konsole and zsh

  • Trouble with fedora
  • try: hostnamectl --help

  • Weekly “What are you playing” Thread || Week of February 11th
  • Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader Story is cool, but you basically have to be bad. I prefer the combat over other types like BG3.

  • Is weird that I like and use both Fedora and Debian?
  • I use both myself, Fedora for desktop work and Debian for server

  • New laptop time. Thinkpad recommendations?
  • My T430 has outlasted my X1 extreme. It was built differently

  • What Linux "Productivity" (ideally FOSS) tools do you use?
  • Im my distro the all the plugins are included in the repo package. But you just need to Configure Kate and there is a plugins section.

  • Is Linux pretty much unusable with an Nvidia GPU?
  • The support for NVIDIA hardware on Linux is not ideal at best. When I switched to all AMD I have since had a very smooth experience, especially with distro hopping.

  • What Linux "Productivity" (ideally FOSS) tools do you use?
  • I have found Kate to be very capable with python and rust. With Sessions I can also have my own set of notes in markdown. The plugins are plentiful and git integration is built in.

  • How do you clean your physical game controller?

Trying to see if I can use alcohol swabs to clean it.

What are you playing this weekend? 2024-01-26
  • I made it to the city, but not Skellige yet.

  • What are you playing this weekend? 2024-01-26
  • Witcher 3 - runs really well and looks amazing, then i go back to Mario Cart for some stress relief

  • [BotW] Having a hard time getting started.
  • This is a good start, thanks for the info

  • [BotW] Having a hard time getting started.
  • The game is beautiful, cant get over how good it looks and runs on the Switch.

  • [BotW] Having a hard time getting started.

This game seems difficult, weapons and shield constantly break. I am always out of stamina and keep dying. I am afraid to roam around, so no open world for me. Any tips, would be appreciated.

Is it just me, or has the BS with OpenAI shown that nobody in the AI space actually cares about "safeguarding AGI?"
  • Lets be thankful we have commerce, buy more, buy more now and be happy... - Om

  • Which video game did you bounce off of at first, but then tried again later for it to become one of your favorites of all time?
  • The Division 2

The main campaign story is boring, but end game is tons of fun and customization of gear builds.

  • What's the point of terminal file managers (mc, ranger, nnn, etc)?
  • Yes, Emacs users are very thorough so expect lots of detail.

  • Novice researching RPG rulesets
  • If you want crunch -> Aftermath! from Fantasy Games Unlimited. You can get a copy here.

  • Did we kill Linux's killer feature?
  • I use Fedora for work, but ArchLinux at home. If you really want to skip flatpak then you need the AUR.

  • SystemD
  • never seen this before, heard of the others but s6 is new to me. very interesting

  • My holy trinity of trust

The inner circle so to speak

We’ve Been Secretly Making a Game

    > That’s right, we have. Well, kind of. We mentioned it briefly in 2019, at Gen Con, but the reference was so short and sparse that it didn’t spread. This was a blessing in disguise because of course the very next year COVID-19 spread across the world, forcing us to change our plans.

    > We changed them back this year. We’re doing it.

    > Let me tell you about this game. In fact, let me get a little cute about it since it’s truly under the radar.

    d20 v 3d6 - where do you stand?

I am a big fan of 3d6, but it makes higher DC rolls much harder.

RPG licensing. RPG licensing never changes. In some ways it’s amazing that it took until 2021 to get an honest Fallout tabletop RPG, given the original game’s mechanical dalliance with GURPS and ot…
