Berkeley landlord association throws party to celebrate restarting evictions
  • eviction is a necessary legal remedy to keep rental housing affordable and available for responsible people.

There's more people then houses in the US, so not really. The necessary remedy is making sure everyone only has one.

  • As an owner of children, I approve this message
  • Would you say this about anyone else? Dogs? Cats? Anything at all?

What an odd comparison, given that pets are crated and put in (a warm/pressurized part of) the cargo bay. Is that better then hiding under a seat or the overhead bin? It seems about the same to me.

  • Overwatch 2 is the worst game on Steam, according to user reviews | "The people who make Overwatch porn work harder than the people who make Overwatch"
  • And 7 years after the fact, how is your one time $40 purchase still paying to keep the servers running?

The company as a whole is profitable, and have been for at least the last few years. I'm on mobile so I'm not able to read their annual investor reports, but do they actually mention overwatch being a loss for the company on a premium model, or are you assuming that?

  • I switched a while back, I think so. Some premium features of plex are available free (like downloading media). It's also less bloated. Personally I hated plex trying to shove it's live tv packages or whatever at me. But honestly, if you're happy with plex, I'd stick with it. They're pretty similar.

  • When Baldur's Gate 3 came out, Steam's overall bandwidth consumption went from around 18 Tbps to 146 Tbps
  • Some backup services charge less for shipping a hard drive then bandwidth, last I looked it was around 8tb to be cheaper (for the user) then restoring over the internet. So I'd guess it's around that mark, but I'm obviously not an expert.

More than 80% of New Yorkers who inject drugs test positive for the opioid fentanyl, despite only 18% reporting using it intentionally
  • Fent is cheap and potent, and so some dealers add it to their heroin (and a couple other drugs, fake pills are also common). Then you can add more cutting agents (like flour), and stretch it even further. However, because it's so potent (50x compared to heroin) a tiny "hot spot" of badly mixed heroin could kill even an addict. As I understand it, deliberating making people OD is largely a myth. While it might get some addict's attention, it also gets the attention of the police.

It's so potent that cross contamination is a major issue. Drug dealer cuts their heroin on a dirty table, next kind of drug gets cut on the same dirty table. For at least some cases, no one meant for fent to be in there.

But it doesn't produce as good of a high as other opioids do (I don't understand the mechanics I'm afraid). As I understand it, the demand is mostly heroin addicts who are really deep in.

Interestingly, from what I remember, it's actually somewhat similar to heroin in that way. Morphine is supposed to be a better high (again, for people not super deep in), but isn't as available. So people use the cheaper and more potent heroin.

  • He doesn't want others praying in public for attention. That doesn't mean he doesn't demand attention, and he does. He expects to be worshipped and will burn people forever if they don't.
