Unpopular opinion
  • My guess is that after he posted the video, a pretty (I dunno by what exact standards, but she does look good in my opinion) girl contacted him:

    • You're not ugly
    • Shall we then proceed to copulation, miss?
    • We shall indeed.

The left half of the picture - no idea, but it looks like some movie reference related to overcoming shit and shit

  • A new challenger has appeared to challenge Soviet tanks for the title of The worst tank
  • You have some right points, but also in one of the most used tanks (I forgot which one), crew were attaching a pillow to a sharp metal corner that you would hit with your head all the time. I'd call that utilitarian, as head trauma was avoidable in some cases.

  • do you think that a third world war will take place?
  • Came here to say the same thing. Both US and EU: "this is not real, this is not a real war".
In their delusion, are helping Ukraine, but it's a half-ass help. How should a war look to be called a war? Tanks, Aircraft, ships, 1000km trench warfare, ballistic missiles - is that a war?

The psychological warfare that happens internally when I come to pay my restaurant bill is killing me
  • I'm from a country where you can tip if you feel like it, I'm living in a country where you don't tip, because employees are paid.
But when I was in the US, I understood how hard can it be to feel ok while not overpaying (because tipping is overpaying in many cases). I went to a concert, and there was a lady managing the automated wardrobe system. Leaving a jacket was $5, and on top of that you were offered to leave 10-20-40% tips. For what?
I entered "0", the lady was looking at that, and she told me "THANK YOU, SIR!" in a very passive-agressive manner, so I felt like shit. But really, all I wanted is to hang my coat.

  • Judging by satellite images from today, all ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet left the port of Novorossiysk.
  • Turkey controls it, and Turkey does whatever they find useful that day. Right now, Russia sold out "allied" Armenia to Azerbaijan, and Turkey is a part of the regional muslim bloc. I have no idea of their agreements, but it's not like Turkey is anything close to being reliable partner to western countries

  • Judging by satellite images from today, all ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet left the port of Novorossiysk.
  • Interesting - Novorossiysk was the furthest (from Ukraine) military port in the Black sea, and the ships were there because it's harder to attack them there compared to Crimea. Where else could they hide, run away to Mediterranean? :)
    Or am I missing something?

  • Messaging Service ICQ To Shut Down Next Month After Nearly 30 Years
  • I was working in Russian IT sector at the time when the government tried to block Telegram. For a few days we had some communication problems because we ised TG for all project chats and communication with most customers. We worked as contractors making an app with/for Mail Ru Group (now the whole company is rebranded as VK, but it's actually a lot of different businesses). This is when I got to know that product manager I was working with was also the product manager for ICQ. And that we had to switch to fucking ICQ for daily conversations because that was their default backup method. Crazy!
I found out that it was facelifted up to the point where you couldn't see the difference between it, TG or WhatsApp.
After about a week, TG was updated and it had a dynamic server connection (not a hardcoded one), so IP blocks stopped working and we returned to tg.
I still remember my number from the 2000s: 173114498. Though I lost access to that account a long time ago

  • The double sexism of ChatGPT’s flirty “Her” voice
  • There is a choice of different voices, it wasn't and isn't a problem. But Sky was the best in my opinion, so even if I support the right of ms Johansson to not hear her voice out of every device, it's personally kinda sad that they're removing it

  • The double sexism of ChatGPT’s flirty “Her” voice
  • This was my voice of choice because it sounded like a "person on the other side" is engaged. Like when you talk to a friend or teacher who's interested in the topic.
If somebody thinks it's somehow related to sexuality, gender questions, etc, they have to check themselves.

  • Consumers are so demoralized by inflation and high rates they've given up on saving for the American Dream and are spending money instead, economist says
  • I liked the book and I was surprised how close to it was the movie, the part tgat got there. And yes, they left out many things, but it's understandable, because the movie was planned as a "funny movie", not a "socio-economical movie". So the book was like "drugs-capitalism-drugs-Vietnam-drugs", tgey cut out all the "boring" parts, leaving only drugs.
The movie is cool though, but It's just me always trying to appreciate what is shown to me, and not trying to compare with another media.

  • In your country, what "common" animals are tourists most excited to see?
  • Are you serious? Why do you care if he's rabid if you'll be dead?
When I was a teenager, I was walking past a bear cub (it was the middle of the city and some asshole took money for pictures with a "trained" bear cub). The cub didn't like me for some reason I had a textile bag in my hand, with a leather-cover notepad in it, like a knock-off moleskin. The cub slashed the bag and his fangs cut through the bag and half of the notepad like butter. If it was my hip, he'd scratch my bones.
    Now there are adult bears...
