Proton Mail on iOS now supports dynamic font sizes
  • Is editing filters on the roadmap for the iOS app? Would be nice to be able to edit from an existing email (auto-insert the from or to address) etc. Annoying to have to remember to go to a computer to do this or open the browser and login.

  • [Discussion] What games are you playing on your deck? - October 2024
  • Rocket League, Stardew Valley, Dirt 4.

Nostalgia stuff: Crash Bandicoot PS1, Worms World Party PS1, NFL Street PS2, MX Superfly PS2, Midnight Club 3 DUB Edition PS2, probably some others

  • Read this if you own a Juicebox EV charger
  • I think a lot of us saw this coming for a while based on how they were treating the “smart” functionality and apps in general. A year or couple years ago they switched the app software and a bunch of functionality you had access to went away (scheduling, some metrics, etc). As long as I can plug the thing in and it charges, I’ll be okay but still…

  • Boule / Bacce Game Help!
  • Thank you. This is perfect, much appreciated. I began to down a rabbit hole of rules for different versions of throwing (standing vs running start) vs rolling, etc. It seems the key is to not make it too strict and have fun. Do you find the number of people on a team to matter? Two or three maximum?

  • Boule / Bacce Game Help!

I’ve been asked to coordinate a “boule” (similar to bocce) tournament for a relatives wedding as a fun thing to do for those coming a few days early (destination wedding).

After doing a little research, I’ve found there are a lot of variations of this game so I’m curious if any of you play this and what your recommendations are for a simple version of this game. There will be people from Europe, US, and Canada at the wedding so I want to make sure it is easy to understand and explain to everyone.

    How to make home-made cider
  • Appreciate the info, been brewing beer for a while but never tried making a cider. I think I’ll give this a try and see how it goes. Plenty of apple orchards near me so I might pick my own for a specific blend.

  • Recommendations for games to listen to audiobooks to?
  • Definitely farming simulator or euro truck simulator.

  • JetBlue makes you watch an ad to connect to wifi
  • Agree, which is why this is mildly infuriating and not worse. Of course there were about 10 minutes of unskippable ads on their media screens before take-off which was a pleasure to be subjected to. That should get everyone free WiFi without needing an additional ad..

  • JetBlue makes you watch an ad to connect to wifi

They also encourage you to provide info on yourself (create an account, provide birthday) to even use the screen on the seat back…

UPDATE! Now 30% of Lemmy Apps display posts accurately
  • This is awesome, thank you. I switched from memmy (iOS only) to voyager because it doesn’t display code blocks properly (usually doesn’t even show what’s in them) so reading certain posts or comments about computers or programming was a disaster.

  • What have you been playing lately? (August)
  • Crash Bandicoot on PSX using duckstation. Man some of these levels are hard, I remember as a kid getting so frustrated and it was absolutely warranted.

  • What is everyone's favorite coffee brand?
  • La Colombe. Really love their all dark roast.

  • Are you prepared for the ramifications of windows 10 EoL?
  • Recently switched to Mac for work and all my home stuff is Linux. Let the rain fall

  • Why does google think I own CrowdSupply once I started using Pop OS?
  • Came here out of curiosity to see if someone knew about the domain ownership thing and got some knowledge instead. I’ve had some weird behavior with my Bluetooth / WiFi card not being very consistent and it’s probably because my antenna is literally on top of an external hard drive plugged in via usb3.0.

  • When will the floss stop hurting
  • I do it once a day, which is what my dentist recommends. Usually at night so you don’t go to sleep with stuff in your teeth. Being gentle should prevent it from hurting.

  • Vape Recommendations?
  • Love the wealth of information you bring. That 100% makes sense regarding the MFLB being analog… I’ve been doing some trial and error with the grind size and how long I’d push the battery in before inhaling. Definitely still figuring out its language but on the other side my wife hates it because it’s quite tricky to dial in to a specific temp/cloud size/etc and she usually comes away just feeling a little foggy compared to how we smoke with our bubbler.

Your comments regarding the grind size are making me consider picking up magic flight’s finishing grinder as well, initially I sort of scoffed at it.. ha.

Generally I’m not too concerned about stealth, affordability is somewhat a factor and (maybe like most people) I like to look for something that doesn’t break the bank and gives a lot for what you pay. Portability is favorable as I can see us using it more as we frequent more places where recreational use is legal.

I think ultimately the ability to “customize your high” is paramount, as I start to hone in on what I enjoy most in terms of a strain, I can see how the vaporizer can further influence the experience.

  • Vape Recommendations?
  • Sweet, sounds like one of those could work well for what I’m looking for. Thank you!

  • Vape Recommendations?
  • Fair enough. Thanks for the suggestion, will take a look at this one, definitely think getting one with temp control will be a better experience.

  • Vape Recommendations?
  • Nice, thanks for the recommendations. I’m in the US and moving from a state where recreational is illegal to one where it’s legal so not always clear where to get the right information.

  • How do we grow?
  • Agree, arguments don’t really get anywhere and typically just lean towards many people chiming in about how they don’t want to be told what to do. The discussion and comments I like to provide are more about bringing a different perspective than telling anyone what to do, but people generally respond the same way (defensive/negative).

Appreciate your feedback, mostly curious because I was more of a lurker in the past but feel like I could always do more.

  • How do we grow?
  • Fair enough, I get it. Not trying to only start arguments with no real learning. There are many ways to execute activism, and I’m curious about everyone’s perspective on how we might do this differently on lemmy.

Generally it seems like this is not really the place for it. Having conversations with real people in real situations usually provides a much better response and opportunity for growth.

  • How do we grow?

Hi all, thank you for the community and hope you are all doing well.

I feel like the vegan presence on lemmy is quite small compared to what it was on the other site and I’m curious how we can build our community here.

I’ve been vegan for over 7 years and am generally a lurker on sites like this but think that due to all the climate awareness I would rather be the single person “enlightening” others to a different worldview than someone solely upvoting others who have the wherewithal to post and put their voice out there.

Maybe this isn’t necessarily the vibe people like but awareness is everything. What do you think?

    Posting issues?

I made a post on a community on the Lemmy.world instance and I can only see it from my discuss.online account, not a separate lemmy.world account. Is this a federation issue? Not sure why this would happen if we’re federated with lemmy.world. Thanks for feedback!

    Vape Recommendations?

I recently got a magic flight launch box to try out since I’ve read dry herb vapes are better on your lungs.

I’ve used bowls, bubblers, bongs, and joints most of my life so not well versed in the non-burning flower options (probably not the right phrase).

Curious what others think of the magic flight vapes or if I should look for something more sophisticated with temperature control.

For background I don’t smoke a lot at a time but do it most days in the evenings to take a load off my brain.

Thanks for the feedback and community!
