- Final Drawloween!
Happy Halloween!
This year I did a colab with my brother where each week we'd each draw one character from the MabsDrawloweenClub list and color for the other person.
I didn't know how it would turn out, but I really like it! And we're not incredibly burnt out!
- It's been a while since I've drawn a biblically accurate angel picture, so here's one I just finished! I call this one "ATOMIC ANGEL"!
This one took me forever, but I'm really pleased with how it came out. I've been through so many revisions with this one it's not even funny, but I think it came together in the end! 😃
Typically, I would post a link to progress pictures and files associated with this drawing onto my Internet Archive account, but Internet Archive is currently still not allowing logins at this time. I shall upload the files there once logins are reinstated. Apologies for any inconvenience!
- (OC) Jonahexpression
My character, Jonah. He's an angel who became sorta fallen (won't spoil too much).
- Really old drawing I did of Doom's Eye (from Shadow The Hedgehog!)
I drew this in January this year... Doom's Eye is pretty simple but fun to draw for a quickish picture. The release of Sonic X Shadow Generations jogged my memory and I still like this pic so I'm uploading it here! 😃
- I shared my sister's artwork elsewhere, it was suggested that I post some here
Before last night I didn't even know my sister still painted. It's great that she does.
- I posted yesterday asking for some tips on how to improve my art, and these are my first drawings after about a day of practicing. I'm pretty happy with them!
I am already noticing some issues with these drawings after coming back to them with fresh eyes, but they’re still definitely an improvement! Yesterday after my post, I filled about a page and a half of my sketchbook practicing the Loomis method over and over again. I also tried to show some emotion in the faces, which was definitely a challenge, lol. Now, I’m only using pen, so I can’t use the Loomis method in my actual drawings, but all of the practice definitely helped me place things as I can estimate where the guide lines would be. Thanks a lot to @makingStuffForFun@lemmy.ml and @late_night@sopuli.xyz in particular!
- 24 hours into teaching myself how to draw. What am I doing well? What do I need to work on?
While that one guy with the tall head was intentionally silly, I think I’m struggling most with proportions. I’m using a reference image for most of these, but none of the end results look much like the people in the photos. I’m also not using a grid as I’m doing this all with pen. I know I’ll eventually get it with practice, but is there anything specific I could try?
- Now Is Not the Time to Panic
Ink on paper.
Inspired by Kevin Wilson's novel, Now Is Not the Time to Panic. About two teens in the 90s who are into art and poetry, that create a poster with a cryptic phrase on it. They post copies of it around town anonymously as an artistic statement, and it becomes viral, but some people see it as a menacing statement by Satan worshippers and things get out of hand. In lieu of posting around town, I posted it on my wall. And I am not an edgy teen, so I forewent the splash of my own blood on the poster.
I'm getting very behind on these thanks to Inktober. I've got another 3 books to do.
- Nautilith
They called it Nautilith, the guardian of the abyss, a beast forged from stone and bound by the ancient ocean’s rage. The last diver who glimpsed it barely resurfaced, his eyes glazed with terror, whispering only, "It watches... and it waits, cracking its stone maw wider with each heartbeat I have left."
And it whispers "me friends call me Jeff."
- Quickie drawing I did of Evolotto, a leaked Pokemon!
I stumbled upon a Tumblr post concerning the Pokemon leaks, and I'm obsessed with Evolotto! I just had to draw them!! ❤️
Typically I would post a link to progress pics and the Paint Tool SAI file. Unfortunately, Internet Archive, my go-to website to upload files on, is still recovering from the recent hacks and is not currently allowing logins. I'll upload the files when logins are reinstated. Sorry for any inconvenience!
- Drippy Copic
Hadn't used copic markers in a long time so I drew this as a practice piece. Some markers dripped unexpectedly at various points onto the figure, so I leaned into it by spattering the background with intentional drips.
