- I was there, not that bad honestly. I would recommend going to the next one if you live in the US.
- Everyone needs to contribute how they can. Wave a sign, post and repost, volunteer to help those most affected by Trump's policies, get out the vote (especially in the primaries), run for office, make a home garden and help neighbors with theirs, donate old stuff (preferably directly to those that might need it), or just try to have those hard talks with your right-wing family and neighbors. I know a lot of people are quick to just cut people out of their lives, and if it's just ruining you emotionally then do what you gotta do, but half of us deciding the other half is evil and unredeemable then we're never going to get out of this funk.

  I am not from the USA (or any other part of the American continent for that matter). In a thread about protests against fascism in the US, taking place in the US, I think it's fair to assume the "you" refers to US citizens. If there was a thread about Brazilian politics I would assume a similar post refers to Brazilians and that's fine IMO. US exceptionalism is real and no doubt many US Lemmy users also fall into that trap, but this particular post just doesn't seem problematic to me.
