when someone finishes transition, they are no longer trans
For anyone who isn’t sure how to explain why this is wrong, here’s what I came up with:
It’s better to think of transition progress in terms of how often you are content vs whether or not you’ve achieved some completed state.
Transitioning does not retroactively fix your AGAB being wrong and all the harm that comes with that. It does not negate the experience of needing to transition in the first place.
There’s a difference between being “cis-passing” in most of your interactions with cis people and being mostly-content with your transition. These stages usually happen at different times if they both happen at all and the OP’s comment feels like it’s prioritizing cis people’s perception of “passing” over trans people’s contentedness.
I saw that person and it's the most ludicrous position I've ever heard. I think I get the idea they don't regard NB people as real too. Finish transitioning? Who decides that?
I think this person is what's called truscum, as in, they think being trans is entirely HRT and surgery. Once the surgery is complete, then that's when the transition is over? What an confusingly stupid opinion.
That person is complaining we called them a bigot and they go out of their way to say weird bigoted things
