8am on a Sunday morning and we have no teabags.
I'd like to apologize to the entire country for allowing this to have happened. I'm sorry.
Update
Made a small Tesco run and got some Yorkshire Tea. On with the day.

brits really drink tea out of bags and have the gall to act like the tea experts
5 11 ReplyWe're quantity experts, not quality experts :)
9 0 ReplyI don't think anyone is suggesting we're experts, just that as a nation we love a cup of tea.
8 1 Replydrink some real tea then

At least it's not Canadian milk
4 0 ReplyWe trailed this a few years ago in the supermarket I worked at. The idea was you'd buy the jug and then just buy a new bag when you needed one. Save on plastic waste I assume, but it never caught on.
2 0 ReplyI figure the reusability of jugs would make them less wasteful, but I have no notion of the metrics. The one thing about bags I just can't get over is there is no reasonable way to reseal it again. They cut the corner and then just have an open liter of milk sitting around. Wild stuff.
2 0 ReplyYou keep it in your refrigerator, it doesn't smell.
Source: used to get my milk from bags when I was still drinking it, am Canadian.

Is it...powdered? Or somehow it's liquid in a bag? I'm so confused here.
1 0 Reply3 0 ReplyFascinating. Thanks for the info!

The big bag you see holds three separate food grade bags with the milk in them.

bagged milk is just the same as any other milk in a different container. bagged tea is the lowest quality tea out there

The weird thing to me is that their teabags seemingly don't have a string attached.
2 1 ReplyYou don't need the string, just fish the bag out with a spoon or your fingers when it's done brewing.
5 0 ReplyThat either creates more dirty silverware than necessary, or requires me to stick my fingers into hot tea! How barbaric a suggestion, really.
1 0 ReplyEh each to their own. The bags float and it's easy to grab a corner sticking out without burning yourself or getting your fingers in your tea.
2 0 ReplyEh, the string just disappears into the pot anyway when you pour the water over. Why not cut out the middle man?
1 0 ReplyYou can hold on to the string when pouring the water over??
HOW WERE YOU EVER AN EMPIRE??
2 0 ReplyYou can try, but it's like the string on peelable packs: it always breaks.
And our empire was built on keeping calm and fishing bags out of teapots.
