NYPD Commissioner Edward Caban cleared officers Andrey Samusev and Daniel Alvarez of misconduct charges sought by the Civilian Complaint Review Board for improper use of force at a 2020 George Floyd protest.
“Based on the video evidence, I determined it was reasonable for Police Officer Alvarez to leave the location for his safety. What was not reasonable, were the actions of the protestors, who created this extremely hazardous encounter,” Caban wrote in the memo, which was obtained from the CCRB via public disclosure law.
So if cops create a "extremely hazardous encounter," it's okay for civilians to run them over with cars then right?
If you allow it for one inconvenience you have to allow it for every one and at that point it's based on perception not reality. It's a slippery slope bud.
