What's going on?

Why 300 years ago? Now, I'd still give up. That made my hair stand up.
Yeah but this way is way scarier, cause even if you survive the army, you now also have to invent a time machine if you ever want to get back home.
Well tattoos, but yeah. They also do it before every union game and it makes me want to pick up the ball again and play them. Not going to happen, but the Aussie side is pretty shite at the moment, so there's a chance
I know about maori people but what is the context for this clip?
She's newly elected. This was a part of her first speech and it has gone viral. She's Maori and I suppose this is her saying she's there to fight, but I didn't see the rest of the speech.
