It just won't work for a local account. This is for those who sign in/up. And those who are forced to sign in/up in the first setup. My hate towards Microsoft and all the companies like it increases every fucking day.
As if anyone actually listens to the city. Lmao. Mfuckers setting their ACs to blast 68 all day, including me.
100%. I try to keep working through them and only participate when my name is called.
Yup, and getting older makes it harder to catch up to that damn train of thoughts after that useless ass meeting interrupted them.
Oh damn. Thank you for this. Didn't know it even existed.
Got it. Thank you so much. I was testing protonvpn to see if it's any good. I'm going to get the plus version then and just start from there.
I don't to keep bugging you about it, but proton connects like three freaking networks, one is pvpnsomethingsomething, the other one is killswitch and the third is ipv6leakprotection. I chose all three and qbitorrent just stalls on each one of them :/
Ok, so I found that and changed it from "any interface" to "proton0". So that means, now if my vpn is not connected, my qBittorrent won't work anymore?
Thank you. I'm not that familiar with UFW, but I have used its UI app, GFUW. I'll mess with it and figure something out. Does blocking outgoing traffic prevent others from seeing my IP address, or do I need to combine that with a rule that only allows connection to the VPN server?
Thank you. I think I've seen how it gets disabled on Linux, so that's an easy task. I'll also install a firewall app for extra protection. Thank you
Will do that. Thank you. Why is having ipv6 on bad? Just curious
I'm gonna need a lot of education before I start torrenting 🤦🏽♂️ I didn't even know such thing existed. How do I do that?
I use proton VPN and I have the Killswitch on, but it was the free version and the Windows version of proton VPN doesn't give me the option to choose the server. It chooses it for you (unlike the linux client which I use as my main most of the time). It apparently used a server that didn't support p2p and then the download "stalled". Checked around and found a little window hidden behind qbit torrent that said "your connection was disconnected because you used a server that doesn't support p2p". I have windscribe premium, but I've noticed that it has IP leak, so I'm just waiting for the subscription to expire and I'm not renewing, and have been testing proton
How does this firm (or whatever it is) know I torrented something? My VPN app took a shit in the middle of a download and I think it exposed my IP to some "anti-piracy" bullshit firm that contacted my ISP. ISP emailed to let me know and to "not do it again". How does this firm know about torrenting? Do they like watch these sites and hope someone's VPN slips like mine did today?
Running Endeavour OS Linux and just updated to plasma 6.0.5, framework 6.3.0, Qt version 6.7.1 on Wayland. I use capslock strictly as my brain refuses to learn using shift (I do touch type no problem), but as well know the capslock is very slow on Linux which always results in text like THis. So, I've found a fix for it online and one of the steps is to enable the option "make capslock an additional Ctrl", but that's not gone :/ What to do?
Not sure if this is something voyager can do or if it's a Lemmy thing. I don't see any indicator that a post is locked when the mods lock it.
Hi all, I've been searching the web for a long while now and I can't find anything. Maybe it's just my rusty English (second language of course). I have an app called "dynamic wallpapers" that creates two wallpapers into one where one is light and the other is dark. The light one is automatically selected by my system when I have the light theme on, and the dark one is also automatically selected when I have the dark theme on (I hope this makes sense). I use the gnome desktop on Linux if that helps. So, I'm looking for wallpapers that are exactly the same, but one is dimmer than the other for both themes. For example, a picture of a mountain with the sun above it, and another with the same mountain and everything, but it's night time and the moon is there instead of the sun. Or just like the windows 11 default wallpaper, the light one and dark one. I really hope I'm making sense. Please ask me for more details if I'm not making sense. Does anyone know of any website that has such wallpapers? Please let me know. I'd very much appreciate any help. Thank you.
Like the title says, are there any EVs that just have a Bluetooth radio and that's it? Like a normal car, not a smartphone on wheels? If not, do you all think that this will actually happen at some point? This is the main reason why I can't (and will never) buy an EV. I like to have actual buttons everywhere on my car. I think those massive tablets on these cars with all the touch buttons are very dangerous. I like an "entertainment system" that only connects to my phone with either a headphone jack of or Bluetooth. It's a car, not a PC.
I was going through my block list and found out that there is no way to unblock any of them on the app. There was nothing to click or 3 dots for options or anything. Just a list of the blocked communities. Anyone knows how? Thanks

Hi all, I've been having issues with my favorite games on EndeavourOS Linux. Also, on top of that, an update the other day deleted my whole plasma desktop and left me with a skeleton of SDDM. I got it fixed, but some things are still wonky. I'm honestly getting tired of maintaining it and I just want something that just works for my video games and some coding. Nobara sounded awesome after some research. I do have a couple of questions for you all before switching:
-
Is Nobara atomic? Immutable? Or whatever those distros are called.
-
I have my /root, /home separate each in their own drive, plus a 3rd one for my steam and other games. Since I'm coming from Arch and I'll only be formatting my root drive, what folders/files will I need to remove from my /home directory after switching to Nobara so I don't have issues?
-
Since I separate drives for everything, I'll be doing a manual partitioning when I install Nobara, and will be choosing btrfs for my /root so I can do snapshots with timeshift. My question is, does Nobara set up the subvolumes automatically for me when I do manual partitioning, or do I need to set them up myself?
-
How hard is it to set up snapshots in grub?
-
Or does Nobara have a back up tool already that already does snapshots?
Thank you.
I have a keychron V6 (it's full size). Solid plastic housing, baby kangaroo switches and KSA caps (these are close to MT3 and SA if anyone is wondering). I like the keyboard so far, but it's not loud enough for me. I like loud and clicky. My question is, does anyone here use a keychron V6/k10/Q6 or any full size with SA/MT3/KSA and kailh box navy switches? If so, how is it? Is it loud? Also, is it heavy since I read that these switches are 90 gm bottom out. Are the jade better?Baby kangaroo are 67 gm bottom out. I mostly code, not much gaming. I'd appreciate any input. Thank you
Hi all, I have a quick and possibly very simple question. I have a keychron V6 with red switches being delivered to me tomorrow. I just want to know what switches and keycaps will fit this keyboard? This is my very first mechanical/swappable keyboard and I know nothing about it. I want to try other switches, mainly brown, blue and yellow. Also want to have a different look keycaps every now and then. I've searched on their site, but I had no idea which ones to choose. lol Thanks in advance.
When will be your "this is the last fucking time I'm voting for the 'lesser of two evils', then I don't care after that, let this country burn to the ground"? For me, this is basically it. This is last election I'm going for that " lesser of two evils" bullshit. After that I'm done. It's just pointless. Let's hear it.
Hi all, I'm switching motherboards. No dGPU. Going from an Intel MB to an AMD one. I have my root partition on an nvme and the home one on a 2.5" sata. Do I need to reinstall, or can I just move the drives from the old MB to the new one without a problem? Figured since both Intel and AMD drivers are both baked into the kernel out of the box, wouldn't it just work and I'll only need to remove the Intel stuff? I'm running good ole endeavourOS with KDE Plasma if that makes any difference. Any insight is much appreciated
I have signed up about 3 or 4 days ago and still can't log in. I didn't add an email, just a user name. I answered the question and all. Is there anyone who can approve my sign up request? Thanks
Hello, everyone I have posted this question on reddit and thought I'd post here, too. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Edit: I have found the solution. For some reason kscreen was unchecked from background services out of the box. Checked and enabled it and everything is good now.
