Police in Moscow reportedly received complaints the My Little Pony event "promoted non-traditional relationships... adult content... and general horror and darkness."
Police were unable to find any evidence of LGBTQ+ propaganda at the event, which is considered an illegal activity in Russia.
Is this the equivalent of being swatted?
And apparently Russia changed My Little Pony's content rating to 18+ in December, which seems insane. The "reason" is because there was one episode in a later season featuring a "lesbian couple" which was only confirmed by the show creators and never actually mentioned in the show itself. It's like banning Harry Potter because J.K. Rowling said on Xitter that Dumbledore is gay.
Technically, it is confirmed, but it's all in the background: once, one proposes to the other (and the other reciprocates), and another time we see a newspaper article about their marriage.
I hate JKR as much as the next guy but dumbledore does come of as gay even in the books and that makes sense in the context.(I don't mean the whole series just in the last ones last part but that too is older than the tweet i presume )
