That's probably why they're writing about it: to make the uninformed equate anti genocide protesters and anyone else who objects to the atrocities being committed by the Israeli apartheid regime with him.
Yes, IIUC the theory goes that they did it to split support for Fatah, and if so, it seems to have worked.
Arguably, Hamas has done much for the Israeli right.
Maybe it's just me, but while I support human rights for Palestinians, the right of Palestinians to be anywhere in Israel, and a right of return for those chased off going back not only to 1948, but earlier, say 1930, nonetheless, fwrick!, I find many of these protesters annoying, be they from Europe, that great shithole of antisemitism, California, where Indigenous were hunted for bounties, NYC where AFAIK, there is no record of the Indigenous in Manhattan getting those gilders for that prime real estate, and as for the leaders of the Muslim-majority countries, fuck Islam and their pedophile prophet (note: I'm not insulting Muslims, I'm insulting Islam).
Hey it's not like we can pick and choose what old fucks like to say on TV or to the press... especially if it's conveniently what Israel apologists want to happen.
