Honestly, it's not a bad thing. People were used to believe every single thing they saw. Now they are forced to verify information or least stop and think if it's true.
Some do, others don't. Many people that care about truth, but were ignorant before, will have to do something about it since "AI" generated content is so prevalent now.

….but it doesn’t matter now, because everyone has moved on with their day, telling people about the huge cats in china
The problem though is it's a bad thing cuz not everyone is skeptical, or on the flip side they're too skeptical. I have a brother-in-law for whom literally every video is fake unless it agrees with him. Doesn't matter if it was live on C-Span it still fake.
