I liked the band until I discovered the drummer is or used to be a libertarian. That's like the least cool thing you can be.
Not naturally aging out of libertarianism is extremely suspect.
Neil kind of did, though. He was more into the Randian shit early on, but he definitely admitted to getting far more iffy about it.
Rolling Stone asked Peart, “Do [Ayn Rand's] words still speak to you?” He responded:

That's really good to hear. I don't really care for Rush's music but kudos to anyone who outgrows Rand bullshit
