"To protect the health and well-being of Americans, especially our children, we must now act with the clarity, courage, and urgency that this moment demands," the surgeon general said.
While mass shootings grab headline attention and are on the rise, they only account for around 1% of gun-related deaths. The rise in gun-related deaths is in large part fueled by an increase in gun homicides over the past 10 years and gun suicides over the past 20. Still, mass-shootings take a disproportionate toll on the nation's mental health, with more than three quarters of U.S. adults reporting stress due to worries about experiencing one.
Remember in Time’s Square some guy was driving a motorcycle, and his backfire caused the entire square t flee in the opposite direction because they thought it ws a shooting
I have been intensely red, mad, and nude for at least a decade that the news and dems place massive, massive emphasis on "mass shootings". firearms suicides and homicides are both addressable with some pretty bog standard economic social support, vast numbers of suicides could be prevented with a simple universal healthcare scheme, but the Dems hammer on mass shootings, mass shootings, mass shootings. Likewise, you can stop a lot of firearms homicides by literally just building community centers for boys and young men to hang out at. Just build them and fund them and gun violence drops significantly. But naw, we gotta all be scared about mass shootings all the time. very mad, very red, very nude.
