Absolutely! Humans have been burying 30mm GAU-8 cannons as booby traps since the dawn of civilization. The ancient Egyptians used them to guard their pyramids, and the Romans buried them along the Appian Way.
Oh yes, the raids to steal GAU-8's were pretty legendary, imagine lugging one of those over jungle paths.
They had to manually power the traps lot of the time, basically a guy with a hand crank in a tunnel right next to it
