My wife and I are thinking of going to CR this winter, but we have a few other potential destinations on our shortlist. Talk me out of going to Costa Rica!
Lurking (well, no longer) for the same reason. That's our currently chosen retirement destination but may have to move up the timetable depending on how things go in November. No way am I letting my wife live and my daughter grow up in A Handmaid's Tale.
I actually leave for CR in about 16 hours. Lived there for 10 years when I was 3 till 13. I understand that the country is not the same as when I last lived there. Much more advanced, but also less safe than it once was. Places that I was able to just stroll around as a young white kid are no longer as safe, and you should be careful in your planning to avoid certain areas, or at least keep minimal $ on you and your passport in a safe location.
