Can I share my Keytar here?
Custom painted Roland AX-7 inspired by Henrik Klingenbergs AX-1. It's signed by Sonata Arctica. It's my first keytar and it's so much fun to play!
This is a great way to check whether the horrible asshole mods from /r/guitar are moderating here without specifically asking. 😂

Nice! What's the reasoning for having C and E as the only white keys?

Not OP, but I’m thinking style for the most part. Same thing with guitars with the inlays and fret markers.
7 0 ReplyPossibly because they border the half tones skipped in scale construction. Looks interesting!

For some reason I cant reply directly to @treczoks@kbinsocial
So here is this.
It's never been an official term, I think back in time they were called "shoulder synths" but someone noticed it's a keyboard played like a guitar and someone was like "ooh "keytar! "came about and it was just way catchier, thus the keytar moniker was born!
At least I think that's how it went. It's been years since I looked into it, so I coupd be full of shit. Someone correct me if I am wrong tho. Too lazy to active research right now.

The fact that you got Henrik to autograph it is the Chef's Kiss.

Sick! Great to see another keytar lover. I have the AX-Edge which is a much heavier beast but also fun to play.
2 0 ReplyI had one! I just sold it though, because I never used it. And I needed to cover medical bills. It was also way too bulky for my liking.
2 0 ReplyYeah it is just slightly too bulky, but does work better for two handed playing if you don't mind T-Rex arms.

TIL that those things are called Keytars. Makes sense.
1 0 ReplyI want a custom one of these with smaller keys so I could actually play it.
1 0 ReplyThere are a few out there with mini keys. I think KORG makes one. Look into it! I haven't played in months at this point, but they are so much fun to play on.

No, get a synth guitar. https://www.guitar-list.com/roland/guitar-synths/roland-g-707
1 2 ReplyWhat if I told you that I play acoustic guitars, electric guitars, synth guitars, keytar, and synths? I appreciate the whole spectrum from end to end.
