first off, I don't even understand the logistics of doing it inside like this. at least have the dump out on a screened in porch with fans if you're gonna be all genteel and shit.

Dumping it on the table, fine, padding with a lot of veggies and store bought shrimp, fine. But the undercooked veggies, overcooked shrimp and utter lack of seasoning or other seafood is a crime. I don't see any garlic or anything either, just some loose onion layers

How do you fuck up a shrimp boil this badly. My meemaw was blind in one eye, riddled with arthritis, and also sometimes incredibly lazy and she would easily make seven pots of crawfish boil no problem
It's not really an "American" thing, it's more regional to coastal south/northeast, but this is common with these sorts of events. I have seen similar spreads at hog roasts and stuff like that.
