thoughts on event pokemon?

Like most people (I assume) I hate the event mons. Wtf do you mean I have to live in likeonee country to get some mythical, just treat it like a story legendary.

There is no reason a pokemon shouldn't be obtainable by gameplay

I think they’re BS but I still treasure my legitimate Mew I got from a Pokémon event from a million years ago.

I am conflicted.
- I think they cool, but fucking annoying as someone who is both European and wasn't around in the GBA era.

I agree.
I feel a special connection to some of my event Pokemon because they are keepsakes. I appreciate their rarity because I actually went to get them, or plugged in the code, or whatever and others did not.

I'm old, so I remember missing out on Mew when there were extremely limited North American mall tours. Never won the Nintendo Power contests. Missed, skipped, or was wholly unaware of basically all of these. I refused to risk my save files to GameShark one, and I didn't understand how to execute the Emerald glitch to get one without an event item.

But then, I got to use my Adult Superpower of Spending Money on Whatever I Fucking Feel Like on Let's Go Pikachu with the Pokeball Plus. Now I have a Mew. Its name is Anne.
- Nice. Still annoying from a gameplay thing, I don't hate the physical part but when its the only method that is annoying.

I'm more bothered that the game will not let me name them! I jump through some hoops to get this thing and I can't even personalize it?

I use genpkm.com and then mystery gift pokemon, or just go outside if its available in your country
I don't really care in normal Pokemon games, but region locked Pokemon in Pokemon Go is the worst

  IIRC, among others, if you want a Kangaskhan, you have to actually go to Australia lol
