Prime Minister Petteri Orpo's coalition has introduced labour market reforms and cuts to social welfare that angered labour unions, which launched widespread strikes in March and April.

NATO is vastly more powerful than Russia already, in terms of sheer military force. It's not even close. Funny how they're all scrambling to raise their military spending as if Russia is about to attack imminently. Which won't happen anyway if we're to believe in NATO's deterrent.
Unsurprisingly the money for this defence increase is obtained by reaching into the pockets of the poorest in society.
Russia has participated in 14 wars since it left the Soviet union. Basically all of Russias European neighbours have been victims of Russian imperialism in the last hundred years. NATO needs to exist to keep peace in Europe
