Imo, that was intentional to get double dip profita on mostly the same work.
I fully believe all of this is just holdover for the next mainline mario kart title, which will be on the next switch device within the first 3 months of its release next year.
Ah, I enjoyed the tour maps in the packs. Berlin is my favorite, but Shanghai is also really pretty.
Excited for the last pack to come out, and then honestly MK8 has more than enough tracks for anybody.

Oh this is about the actual mobile game? Damn. Wild that it's still around, considering what a sad fart it was both in gameplay and reception. Reading up a bit on it, it apparently even ran quite well, interesting to hear that. It went completely off the radar after just a handful of months.
Now I wonder how long it stays online before all the money the asked people to throw at it literally turns into nothing. Kinda surprised a mobile Mario Kart didn't have more legs on it.
Nintendo fans are used to "buy the game, maybe an expansion, and you have everything to play as long as you want." When you tell those same people that karts and racers need to be won from loot boxes and that the hardest difficulty is locked behind a subscription, you lose a lot of the hype.
Well the mainstream nintendo ones do. Fire Emblem Heroes is one of nintendos longest running mobile games, and is still the one that makes the most $ (not including the Pokemon series, which is often considered seperate to Nintendos other ips in terms of management)
