"We do not need to spend almost a trillion dollars on the military, while half a million Americans are homeless and children go hungry," Sen. Bernie Sanders writes in a new op-ed.
I think we could cut the budget in half by just asking questions about spending. “Where is this going, why, and how does that benefit the tax payer?” I’d like to hear that explanation when we get to the Israel list item.
Years ago I was in a Carl's Jr and some guy was on the phone talking and gloating about how he charged 100 bucks per screw that he got from home Depot for his government contract... I don't know why I always remember that but I always have thought about how fucked it was and how there must be so many more people doing the same shit.
Because that would be sanders actually accomplishing something rather than just talking a big game while not getting in the way.
That has been his entire career. He talks shit but doesn't accomplish much. And the few times he DOES actually act he mostly just shoots himself in the foot and pisses away any influence he has left.
Also: The world is catching on fire at an alarming rate and china is trying to intimidate Taiwan again. The last thing sanders wants is to be the guy stopping a military/intel funding bill when that war goes hot.
