It's not that you're an idiot, but it's wise to avoid using a chromium/blink based browser since they are building a dangerous monopoly. Firefox is the best known alternative, but there are a couple other options.
Falkon is actually also nice. But nobody carws about it so no real addons and only maintenance support.
I have no idea who does QTWebengine, but its good
I mean its the only FOSS fully customizable and non big-Corp browser that you can harden towards Tor-Browser, use for i2p and so much more

I use both Firefox and Brave. I'm not sure if that makes me an asshole or not.

from a personal security standpoint answering this question is silly. There are a lot of phone and browser specific vulnerabilities out there, what does anyone gain from sharing this info with strangers!?
