These are the most despicable, disgusting people on the face of the earth. I do not for one second believe this was said for any reason other than "we know saying king will really piss off the left."
His supporters love that about him, but will lie through their teeth and clutch their pearls if you confront them directly about that fact.
Spiteful, petty, hate-filled scum.
Hillary Clinton was right when she called them a basket of deplorables.
- I don't think it's as benign as just trying to get a rise out of people.
  It's called "reconnaissance-in-force". Basically you scout by starting a low-cost battle.
  Him and Elon do it all the time, but in the political space. They say things as a "joke", and then gauge the blowback. Then they decide if it's a joke or not post hoc.
  It's always "a joke to own the libs" until it isn't. You know those "jokes" about how if he gets elected, you'll never have to vote again?
  
  Yup, this is a lithmus test. If people stay quiet, he gets to do the next thing and the next thing, etc.
  When parenting, you're always encouraged to cut off bad behavior before it gets worse. The same applies here.

He is a real states' rights advocate.
- State's rights really just means red states rights. Red states should be allowed to do whatever the fuck they want... blue states should wait until all the red states also agree with it.

Why did DOT have jurisdiction here anyway? If they don't like congestion pricing just raise all prices to max at all times since you know it works.
- Same as anything else the federal government can do at the state level. If it has federal funding, they can pull it or use the funding to force them to comply.
