The Gorn is already enjoying his Friday. I hope you all do too, /c/Risa!

Got the idea from @carlo@lemmy.ca the other day, and just finally got around to making it.

Thanks brotato chip.
I'd like to mention again how impressive it is that Strange New Worlds managed to transform the Gorn from a joke to a menacing and interesting villain.
I'm interested in seeing it whenever I start SNW. I've been watching TOS again recently, and I just saw the Gorn episode again a couple of nights ago.
... they were supposed to be a misunderstood "villain" just trying to continue existing.
True. But in the continuity of SNW they are currently (miss-) understood as such.
Seriously - the first episode they show up in is genuinely some of the best “submarines but in space” combat I think I’ve ever seen. The tension is unbelievable. Arguably better than TWoK (for that style of space combat at least). I’d put S1E4 in the running for best S1 episode, honestly.
I can't help but imagine gorn porn is much like the gorn fight; slow, clearly fake, and so stupid it's funny.
With lots of double-handed smacks on the back.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
They're obviously faking it
@carlo@lemmy.ca had this idea for "gorn hub" in another thread. Just took me a couple of weeks to get around to making it.
Not hard to get the hang of basic editing in GIMP.
A general rule I always follow is when you start editing ... create a folder, place all your starting images in there and duplicate the folder ... keep one folder as the original (and keep it hidden in the background) and start editing in the copy.
This way, if you ever mess up or can no longer undo whatever you did ... just grab a copy of the original layer and restart
Sometimes if I'm doing a complicated edit, I'll keep multiple duplicates of each layer version of the edit I'm doing.... just to be safe.
It took me a ton of lost hours of editing before I got to the point of creating duplicate backup layers ... it creates massive files but if I'm just doing memes, I just delete the editing file once I'm done anyway.
Happy editing ... I look forward to it!!
is that a stack of his favourite saved gorn on memory sticks?
Yeah, the Gorn likes to save hard copies in case the subspace network ever goes down.
I guess we all share habits with other species
