Personally, I pretty much only smoke joints. Glass filter tips and RAW Black Organic Hemps wrapped around some good homegrown... bliss. But I recognize other people have different opinions, so in the spirit of provoking discussion what's everyone's preferred way to medicate (or just get fuckin blasted)?
I switched from joints to a vaporizer 6 years ago and haven't looked back. Allowed me to quit smoking (cigarettes), is much more enjoyable and healthier.
I used to smoke flower but now only do so on very rare occasions (like if I get a favorite strain, like NYC Diesel). I was using a PAX to vape flower for the past few years, but I recently started experimenting with concentrates.
To be completely honest, I have been blown away by concentrates on a number of things: no more pot smell on me; hits are far superior (one hit is enough); my throat isn't burning afterwards. I prefer live rosins (heat press, no solvents used) as it is more natural and preserves a lot of the terpenes and natural flavors. I've tried other concentrates too, badder/budder, crumble, wax, shatter, but I find that diamonds are some of the highest in THC-A (my most recent batch is just below 97%) and hit so smooth that there is almost no aftertaste.
My daily driver is a Yocan Orbit and I must say this thing is absolutely amazing (versus owning a dab rig with kids in the house) and super easy to clean (one minute with iso and a cotton swab and I'm off to the races). I tried a Terp Pen initially, but they get pretty clogged up and are much harder to clean.
Now, I'm not advocating one delivery system over another, but I'm in my late 40's and I can't be hitting blunts or bongs on a regular basis, much less a preroll. I do miss the ritual of it all, but that's about it.
Do you taste any metal with the Yocan? I have some live rosin and I tried it in the Pax attachment and it was so-so. I then tried it with an attachment from a cheaper vape pen, but it uses a coil to heat it up and it tastes like I’m smoking the coil more than anything else. Also, do you have any tips on how to manage the rosin? It’s so sticky!
No metallic taste from the Yocan. The coil is underneath the quartz cup.
I tried the concentrate oven with my Pax Plus, but I wasn't too thrilled with it. The little bucket and lid needs constant cleaning and I found it tedious. My Pax is just used for flower now.
As for the Terp Pen, it works okay initially, but then the coil tip gets gunked up, even if you pull slowly as recommended. It is also much more involved when cleaning due to the airflow design. I went through a few coils before switching up to the Yocan Orbit.
As for handling sticky concentrates, forget those dab tools and get a hot knife. Scoop with the knife cool, then hit the button to release the concentrate.
bongs are the most fun but a pain to clean and set up (mine is dishwashable lol), joints are my next favourite, theres just something about em', just the right amount every time. My go to is my dry flower vape, its just so convenient. It doesn't hit as hard but its nice and smooth and the upkeep is the easiest.

I thankfully just have a 7" beaker. ISO, salt, wrap both openings in a bit of clingwrap tightly and shake that motherfucker for 30 seconds like the bitch owes you money. Dump, rinse, crystal clear and ready to funk up again lmao.
I mostly vape now, since I have a kid and my partner is also sensitive to smells. However, my favorite is a stone bowl/wood stem pipe she bought me for father's day two years ago. It gives big wizard vibes and makes me slow down to enjoy the ritual of smoking.
OmniVap with dosing caps in an induction heater throughout the day. Then either an Xvape Aria with flower or a Yocan Orbit with dabs watching tv in bed before going to sleep.
I used to love Xvape but now they’re on my shit list. I’ve had several iterations of the Cricket pen over the years, but the latest model auto shutoffs 15 seconds after the last button press. It’s fucking infuriating having to 5x click it back on each time.
Yeah, I only got the Xvape and Yocan as cheap trials of the other types of device. I actually use the Xvape like my OmniVap and only let it run for a few puffs before I turn it off.
I like my Omni the best but only with induction heat.
Classic bongs, mostly. Got the DHC Box so every month a new cute rig shows up, got a whole collection now.
Keep a few of them in a mini fridge I use for other stuff (started cuz I was too lazy to freeze a freezer bong lol) so they always hit ice cold, it rules
Got my eyes on a desktop vaporizer though, wife's prolly getting me one for Xmas and I'll swap to using that through my bongs instead
I love vaping flower and doing dabs, but my favorite is mixing flower w/ a dab of concentrate (bubble hash, live resin/rosin or diamonds) in my Dynavap and ripping out of a basic 12" beaker bong.
Each loaded bowl gives 2-3 full bong rips - flavor off the charts, super dense vapor & a better high than just flower or dabs on their own.
What's the deal with the dynavap? Is it portable? It's powered by a regular bic lighter right? I have a cartridge pen for times when I can't smoke a joint and I hate it.
It's portable for sure, but as it's manually heated I would say it doesnt feel super discrete. I mostly use it at home because I love the function and I medicate all day. It's great for taking on the trail or hitting in the car, etc but I would feel wierd heating it up out in public even here in OR (i feel far more comfortable w/ my Crafty and dosing pods if I'm sneaking a puff while out and about).
It can be heated with just about any heat source but ive found a little butane torch lighter is convenient, relatively discrete and easier than a traditional BiC type lighter (which takes forever and doesn't heat very evenly).
