I'm so conditioned by ads on social media that I automatically inspect Lemmy posts when I'm browsing.

I'm getting better at it though.

I'm so used to blocking ads that I sometimes forget they even exist and am always shocked when I see people who don't use adblockers.
- For real. I tried to show my dad a YouTube video on his phone not too long ago and just outright gave up after seeing that the duration of the ads would exceed the duration of the video. Revanced gang forever
  
  Oh damn, did something replace vanced? I was super bummed out when mine stopped working and started watching youtube through brave browser on mobile.

- raw dogging the internet, i dont understand it 😩 and most the time, theyre completely oblivious and indifferent toward them
  
  Having experienced it myself back in the wild days of the net before I discovered ad blockers, they were so omnipresent that you just kinda ignored them. Like noseblindness making you ignore a smell you're used to, but when other people come in your home they ask you wtf that smell is.
- Every time I'm using someone else's tech and I see ads I actually quite enjoy them in a nostalgic way. I kind of miss the days when I used to know all the jingles for all the pizza chains and furniture stores in my area.

You need to start using uBlock Origin my friend.
- If on Android, AdGuard is a system wide adblocker which works amazingly well. No root needed, a bit pricy for a lifetime license, but 100% worth it imo
  
  I just use Ublock and Firefox, but how much is AdGuard?
- Sometimes I can't access sites when it's running.
  
  You can turn it on/off per site.
  
  I just don't bother with those sites, ads are a security threat.
It feels so weird, scrolling through the posts without seeing an add.
