Are people still using Unity? I feel like they lost so much goodwill that this feels like a Wizard of Oz type facade.
Theres people who cant switch out while in the middle of a game and people who use it for their job (a lot of indie devs switched but its still used heavily in the industry). Also games that continually run like genshin impact that have people maintaining them and porting is not feasible since the game is already released
And then theres people who just dont want to switch
I wasn’t referencing people who are stuck with Unity. I was referencing the devs from the posted article that are creating new games with Unity still. I don’t see how someone would “[not] want to switch” when the writing is on the wall. Seems a bit short-sighted to rely on an engine that, not only can, but is willing to make changes on a whim to squeeze more money out of devs.
But why not sitting down?
