Andererseits sehe ich auch das Problem, dass wir dann die Deutungshoheit in dem Bereich privaten religiösen Vereinen überlassen, die teilweise eine sehr bedenkliche Einstellung zur FDGO und unseren liberalen Werten haben.
Es macht halt irgendwie schon Sinn über so gesellschaftlich prägende Dinge wie Religion zu unterrichten. Aus meiner Sicht macht es aber wenig Sinn, dann man dann einzelnen Religionsgemeinschaften erlaubt, sich selbst darzustellen, anderen dann wieder nicht und das alles dann auch noch über Lehrpläne, die von diesen Religionsgemeinschaften bestimmt werden mit disziplinarischem Zugriff auf die Lehrkräfte selbst. Das gehört eigentlich in den Sozialkunde/Politikunterricht
Ich würde das in Fach Ethik unterbringen. Religion beschäftigt sich ja grob gesagt ebenfalls mit der Frage was Gut und was Schlecht ist. Das kann man dann eben aus verschiedenen Blickwinkeln unterschiedlicher Weltanschauungen betrachten.

Meine 2ct: Wir sollten den konfessionsgebundenen Religionsunterricht abschaffen und durch neutrale Religionswissenschaften ersetzen.
Dafür nötig wäre allerdings eine Änderung des Art. 7, Abs. 3 GG:
Der Religionsunterricht ist in den öffentlichen Schulen mit Ausnahme der bekenntnisfreien Schulen ordentliches Lehrfach. Unbeschadet des staatlichen Aufsichtsrechtes wird der Religionsunterricht in Übereinstimmung mit den Grundsätzen der Religionsgemeinschaften erteilt. Kein Lehrer darf gegen seinen Willen verpflichtet werden, Religionsunterricht zu erteilen.
Dafür sehe ich aber leider nicht mal im Ansatz eine Mehrheit. Die Religiösen sind ja in allen Parteien vertreten. Teilweise in hohen Ämtern (siehe z.B. Katrin Göring-Eckardt oder Bodo Ramelow)
In Hamburg gibt es seit einigen Jahren "Religionsunterricht für alle". Das bedeutet, das Religion nach einem einheitlichen Lehrplan von Beauftragten verschiedener Religionen unterrichtet.
Verantwortlich dafür sind:
die evangelischen Nordkirche,
das Erzbistum Hamburg
die alevitische Gemeinde
die jüdische Gemeinde
die islamischen Verbänden Schura, VIKZ und DITIB
Das halte ich für eine relativ sinnvolle Einrichtung , weil so zum einen Leute zur Verfügung stehen, die aus ihrer eigenen religiösen Erfahrung berichten können und zum anderen eine ausgewogene Darstellung der verschiedenen Religionen sehr viel wahrscheinlicher ist. Ich denke, dass diese Form des Religionsunterrichts auch für atheistische Kinder einen Wert haben könnte.
Ich hatte Religion aus drittes Prüfungsfach im Abi - war einfach der Weg des geringsten Widerstands. Aber ja, das Zeug muss weg. In einem säkularen Staat hat sowas keinen Platz.
