Hmm according to myth busters, it does work if you have a giant fan and sail, just much less effectively than just the fan. Since the sail is acting as an inefficient air redirecter, kinda like an airplane thrust reverser.
i think the mythbusters result goes against the spirit of the myth. yes you “can” blow your own sail, but it’s never going to be as effective as shown in cartoons and such, or just turning the fan around like a normal air boat.
Why would I watch a video that asks a question I already know the answer to unless I was a complete moron easily clickbaited by ass clowns making YouTube videos for a living?

The video explores other questions as well, not just the fan question.
People enjoy thinking about things, rather than rote memorization, so a video that makes physics understandable and fun for people who aren't masters in physics isn't so bad.
