octopi tip - get a Usb-a power blocker
I really didn't like how my usb connection powered the printer control screen, so rebooting required switching off AND unplugging.
Searched Amazon for "USB a power blocker". Problem solved.

You can also use electrical tape to cover the 5V pin: https://community.octoprint.org/t/put-tape-on-the-5v-pin-why-and-how/13574
16 0 ReplyThis is how I did it with my old board. My new board has a jumper to toggle between powering via USB and not.
