Or maybe the shitters could unclench their butthole for the first time in human history and let people live their lives. Are there dudes coming into your stall while you drop a hot nasty deuce? Why else would you care about who is in the bathroom?
I know, I get it's not really about Trans people and them using bathrooms, it's all divide and conquer 1%er propaganda.
Wouldn't want to have news stories about worker rights, solutions to the housing crisis, or stories on the collusion between monopolistic corporations. Better to have 24/7 stories about Trump and shit like trans people using bathrooms. Stuff that doesn't threaten the 1%'s stolen wealth and influence.
I visited Melbourne almost 10 years ago and I went to a place that had 4 individual toilets, instead of labeling man and woman, they were labeled as the Pokemon Go teams
According to a local I meet there they would change the signs every now and then and last month they were labeled after the Harry Potter houses.
moral of the story, all single occupant toilets are gender neutral by default
Its more like a kind of claustrophobia... in Japan, men's urinals are often visible from the door because the Yakuza used to use that as an isolated location in which to kill their target. (And despite the high cleanliness standards and widespread availability of public bathrooms Japanese people avoid them like the plague.) So it it a cultural expectation that women will get assaulted by men if they find themselves in a small space.
Yes, irrational. But people often don't behave rationally.
This is speculation, but I would imagine that gender bathrooms were a Victorian era invention. Much of our current gender roles today were created during that era. I could be wrong though, does anyone have the history of gender specific bathrooms?
