Google Assistant was once the standard to measure against, but it continues to crumble in the "Gemini" era.
What is even happening at Google
The same thing as always. Either you're working on the shiny new thing, or you're a dinosaur. There's no reward for maintaining a perfectly good application as-is.

Latest thing I noticed is at least with the home devices you can no longer get who/what band is playing.
It only tells you the song name. The band/artist is the primary reason I ask, not the song title.
I've lost the ability to stop media playing. Fortunately I have a Google Home with a pause button.
Crazy random crap breaking!
They took away the ability to set alarms through the mic icon. The most useful feature for me.
I literally just want Google Now On Tap back.
Google now on tap was the GOAT. The amount of stuff you could do back than was so cool. Now, we have this clunky mess of assistant and Gemini AI which doesn't work half the time.
At least, circle to search seems to be good
