Thinking about anime adaptations today, the good and bad. What's your favorite anime video game and what's your most hated?
Favorite: Gundam Federation vs. Zeon. Capcom Gundam fighting game goodness, plus it's one of the few fighting games you don't need to be super skilled at fighting games to master.
Hated: Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Battle 22. JANK. Horrible fighting game that looks like dog doo doo and plays just as bad. The saturn port, from what I gather, is better than the psx.
You're talking about those Gundam Vs Gundam games, not Gundam Battle Assault, right? I loved the Gundam Battle Assault games, but they're probably kinda bad in retrospect lol.
Most of the PS2 Gundam games are pretty solid adaptations. I remember Robotech: Battlecry from the same era being pretty neat (and had a nice cell-shaded style, too).
I like some of the Sailor Moon beat-em-ups (Sailor Moon R on the SNES and Sailor Moon on the Genesis come to mind) and some of the Macross shooters. The Magic Knight Rayearth JRPG was something I have fond memories of, but I haven't played it in 10-15+ years.
The Cowboy Bebop game for PSX is a kinda disappointing rail shooter.
Stuff I've been meaning to try, but haven't had the patience to play (since they're in Japanese with no English patch that I know of): a bunch of Votoms games, the Gunbuster PS2 game, Gihren's Greed, the Utena game on Sega Saturn.

Yeah Gundam VS by Capcom that started on PS2. The battle assault games are okay too, I enjoyed the first one.
I remember a lot of good Dragonball Z games. Budokai Tenkaichi (I think?) on PS2, and Legacy of Goku 2 + Buu's Fury on GBA in particular were a good time.
One Piece Pirate Warriors is very head-empty, even for a musou game, but it's still dumb fun.
I remember that one Yugioh TBS game (Capsule Coliseum pretty sure) which I used to love as a kid even if I couldn't understand the mechanics and just winged it. Aside from that... can't think of anything else, except the inverted case (games that were later given anime adaptations).
