Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier has confirmed that a Final Fantasy Tactics remaster is indeed in development. This confirmation comes after speculation surrounding the credibility of frequent Atlus news leaker Midori, who recently admitted to adopting an online persona.
The news of the Final Fantasy Tactics remaster has been received with excitement by fans eagerly anticipating its release. While details on the remake are scarce, this announcement brings hope for a new iteration of the beloved tactical RPG.
What do you think about the prospect of a Final Fantasy Tactics remaster? Are there any changes or features you'd like to see in the remake?
FF Tactics is a VR/XR dream port of mine. I’d love to see those battle arenas set up on my coffee table, with the ability to actually move the pieces around like chess.
With a mere 100 days left on my PS+ Extra subscription, an upgrade to Premium tier for the remaining time was just $5. That netted me both Saints & Sinners games for PSVR2 as well as a few others, including a 1 hour free trial of Demeo, which I fully intend to take advantage of.
Mostly newsworthy because Matsuno said last year there were no plans for it. The bigger news for me is Schreier saying down-thread that Naoki Yoshida's team is on the project. I was concerned Asano's might be, and I don't want him anywhere near this.
I'd be deliriously happy with the Tactics Ogre Reborn treatment. A similarly arranged, orchestrated soundtrack is my #1 ask; I think this is still Sakimoto and Iwata's best work, and the PSX audio doesn't do the compositions justice. Additional animated cutscenes and additional dungeons/sidequests are probably not happening, but like in Reborn, high-quality voice overs and something small to mix up the gameplay or tweak the difficulty would be nice.
I like the revamped graphics the most, the history its as all FFT, emotional at times and makes you care about the characters too much. The replay value keeps being high as you have many random missions popping up all the time so you always have something to do
