Just found out my youth pastor was fully a predator (cw: pedophilia)
Can't post links here without doxxing myself, but the megachurch wannabe/president of one of the boards of education around here is finally being called out. I've known about unsavory things he's done in the past, but this is the first time one of his victims has come forward. And it was someone that I was relatively close to. I'm so glad to see him finally go down.
I had a youth pastor who I always disliked. One of the last church events I ever went to was a youth-group pool party. I was roughing around with the other guys and he decided he wanted in on it. I got him in a head lock and told him to just tapout but he couldn't stand getting his ass beat by a kid so I kept squeezing. He ended up having to eat through a straw for several weeks cause his throat was too bruised to really swallow. About five years later he was arrested for child porn. I regret that I didn't keep squeezing a little longer.
What finally totally ripped the bandaid off for me on catholicism was when I had to go to confirmation classes in the next diocese over. That church had a young new priest who just got transferred there from a couple hours away.
Who wants to guess why that priest had to be transferred a couple hours away.
