Yes, it's good for low complexity, large scope use cases.
The classic example is transaction processing (that's what those IBM mainframe with 4 way and 8 way SMT are often used for).
I don't even know who to trust here. Apple has motivation to highlight how Apple Intelligence is massive success (irrespective of whether it is true or not) and Google has an incentive to play up the strength of their service.
Good point! Didn't think of that.
The article ain't clear on this, but it seems this an x86 CPU.
Curious to see multi-thread benchmarks for this CPU (I am assuming ST is subar and many years behind American CPU companies).

I am surprised nothing was mentioned about the previously reported initiative to develop their own semiconductors (not IP, but actual products to be shipped in devices).
I use DietPi (an excellent SBC OS that combines minimalism with a powerful set of CLI management tools for people who are not experts in Linux), I am not looking forward to the base Debian update.
I don't know how it works with Raspberry Pi OS, but with DietPi I was forced to do a clean install after a borked update to the bookworm base. I stick to defaults and in-built configuration tools with DietPi.

I am surprised they went as far as mass shutdown of mobile internet in so many large metropolitan areas.
Seems like they are being paranoid. I don't get the impression we have the capabilities for a big strike that would have immense symbolic impact (e.g. on the military units taking part in the parade in Moscow).
Not to mention all the other drawbacks associated with HarmonyOS (lack of applications, increased complexity with support etc.)

I wouldn't be surprised if there will be more price increases. 20% seems relatively modest considering the tariff for key computer/component manufacturing countries.

The Ampere GPU carries the same architecture as Nvidia's RTX 30-series graphics cards, and the die shot shows 12 SMs, which would total 1,536 CUDA cores. For context, that's a little more than half of the cores available in a desktop RTX 3050 graphics card. Geekerwan insists that the closest point of comparison for the Switch 2's SoC is a downclocked RTX 2050 laptop GPU.
I am surprised CDPR is planning to release Cyberpunk on a device with such an anemic GPU. A downclocked laptop 2050 is extremely weak by modern standards.
Good to hear that they will be running proof of concept test in 2026.
While it's difficult to evaluate such announcements, it seems that there is at least some potential for a breakthrough. Although I am surprised current DRAM leaders haven't gotten in touch with NEO Semiconductor (or started their own research initiatives in this direction).

Cool graphic! Cheers!
Sounds like it's going to be UE6: Fortnite.
Hopefully Godot can make more improvements by the time of UE6's release.
Nvidia's involvement suggest the price is not going to be competitive, which IMO is a must for Windows-on-ARM devices. Snapdragon WoA devices aren't really that much better than the latest AMD or Intel laptops in terms of efficiency (while Qualcomm promised the moon in terms of both efficiency and absolute performance). That means there has to a discount for dealing with all the drawbacks of Windows-on-ARM.
Looks very much like change for the sake of change, or be more specific, change for the sake of promotion.
Then don't talk out of your ass about things you have no fucking clue about.
Ukraine does not have anything close to the same level of racism as russia. And supremacist attitudes exist outside the bounds of race, just because you know nothing about it it this and are too lazy to educate yourself, it doesn't mean this is not a major issue (it is literally the root cause of the russian invasion).

I don't see any ethical issues with donating to LW. Tankie rubbish is both downvoted heavily and/or modded if things start getting out of hand.
