Yeah. It didn't seem like a complete waste watching 7. It felt completely redundant, but I enjoyed the Daniel Craig and Yayan Ruhian cameos, which pushed it into a mildly positive territory for me.
What I don't get is why would anyone watch 8, let alone 9 after that. Sounds like some variety of Stockholm Syndrome is at play here. I didn't, and from what I heard it was a smart decision.

Worse solution, but I would accept if publishers were forced to clearly display the exact date when the game will stop functioning at the point of purchase and all advertising materials.
There's a bunch of petitions and actions possible on various parts of the world. It's not just one meaningless online petition but a comprehensive plan to bring this to attention of various governments worldwide. Keep an eye out, there might be something you can help with in the future depending on where you live.

Yeah, it seems to me it's vicious circle. The American cops are super trigger happy because they think everyone has a gun which makes people trust the police less which makes the police more twitchy...
The lack of training and accountability is a major thing too though. I'm not discounting that.

Not sure what having an account has to do with anything. I get the objection on the grounds of Meta being a shit company and it's perfectly reasonable, but having to make an account specifically for the device (and possibly nothing else - you don't have to link it to facebook or anything) doesn't magically give them any more power over you.
There's plenty of amazing VR games of other genres. IMO the lack of wireless options was holding it back. Why would you turn with a stick when you can just... turn around.
