What's happening to DAI? I'm out of the loop.
Both seem equally improbable.
And a person claimed in a later post that “around 300” of their old pictures, some of which were “revealing,” appeared on an iPad they’d wiped per Apple’s guidelines and sold to a friend.
How would that even work? Wiping a device resets the encryption keys, doesn't it?
First time I'm hearing about this. Why would they drop the licensing fee?
Ah ja, Krypto, aber dann eine spezielle App benötigen. Das ist doch Unsinn.
Not really, it simply indicates that it delegates the traffic to the sliding sync proxy. It does not indicate whether this proxy works correctly.
Did you try to test your coturn
The test correctly gathers the srflx
candidates, so STUN should be working. But I can't get it to find relay
candidates, so I guess TURN isn't?
The homeserver incl. Coturn is running on a VPS, no ports blocked.
The clients are in different networks. Everything should just work, but it doesn't for some reason.
If this was the case, the playbook would surely set up two different Coturn instances. Also, I don't understand why it would work that way.
My setup is not a "special usecase", but a single unfederated homeserver. Calls do not work between users unless turn.matrix.org is enabled.
I've set up my homeserver via matrix-docker-ansible-deploy, but made the mistake of using my domain as ansible_host
variable at first. I think that is why now my Coturn server doesn't work as intended. Calls can only be made (in Element) when I enable turn.matrix.org as an alternative in the settings.
Since the initital setup, I've correctly replaced the domain with the server IP in the ansible inventory file and reran just setup-all
, but I still can't make calls via my homeserver.
- Is it likely that the mistake I made is causing this issue?
- What can I do to correct the Coturn configuration or otherwise fix this issue?
EDIT: I've found this in the docs: https://github.com/spantaleev/matrix-docker-ansible-deploy/blob/master/docs/configuring-playbook-turn.md#manually-defining-your-public-ip I'll try this and report back.
EDIT2: This did not fix the issue.
Element X works, but does it really require Sliding Sync?
I've used matrix-docker-ansible-deploy to set up Dendrite and the Sliding Sync proxy. Is there a way for me to test the sliding sync functionality?
Instead of voting you down, people should explain why they disagreed with you. Because I also don't really get it. I know there's the problem of siphoning drinking water in the region, but besides that the Tesla fab seems better than every single combustion engine fab in Germany, but AFAIK there have never been any significant protests against these.
Edit:
More than 10,000 people work in the factory , so I can't say how they individually feel about the disruptive movement. But I know that the employees were very happy that the conditions at Tesla in the last few months were clarified. They hope that something will happen. No one should have to work in a place where life-threatening accidents happen all the time, where the ambulance comes every day and where accidents are not even reported. We are also committed to changing this.
So I guess the protests want to tackle working conditions there, too.
Edit 2:
Great, now I'm getting down voted too.

Is there such a thing? I wasn't able to find anything in the F-Droid repository.
but Bitcoin does nothing to prevent custodial exchanges, in the way something like Monero does
In what way does Monero prevent that?
Shit, this kinda screws with my plans to use the A380 as a transcoding card for my server.
There's a way to run the client on Linux now? Awesome!
Our data includes anonymized API calls to traditional search indexes like Google, Yandex, Mojeek and Brave, specialized search engines like Marginalia, and sources of vertical information like Wolfram Alpha, Apple, Wikipedia, Open Meteo, Yelp, TripAdvisor and other APIs
I don't want to be that guy, but technically they said they are using traditional indexes like Google, not that they are in fact using Google. But I guess that is splitting hairs.
Also, maybe they just dropped Google from their indexes? And what's more: Why does it matter if they are using Google at all, when the results are satisfying?
Knowing which indexes they are using exactly would be nice to know, though.

Before the newest update I was able to collapse a comment and all of its replies by tapping the "headline" of the comment. Now this action only hides the replies. Can I get the old behavior back?
After installing a new interim CEO earlier this month, Mozilla, the organization behind the Firefox browser, is making some major changes to its product
>Specifically, Mozilla plans to scale back its investment in a number of products, including its VPN, Relay and, somewhat remarkably, its Online Footprint Scrubber, which launched only a week ago. Mozilla will also shut down Hubs, the 3D virtual world it launched back in 2018, and scale back its investment in its mozilla.social Mastodon instance. The layoffs will affect roughly 60 employees. Bloomberg previously reported the layoffs.
Yo, wtf. Their VPN, Relay and Monitor are basically the only Mozilla services I'd use and pay for. To me this sounds like this is the wrong direction. What do you guys think?
Ich suche eine vollständige(!) aktuelle(!) Liste aller(!)

Element for Android doesn't support searching in encrypted channels and I think you can't use E2EE in the browser at all(?), plus basically every other client has even more drawbacks when it comes to E2EE.
My team recently tried RocketChat, but E2EE is obviously an afterthought for that project as it has even more limitations than non-Element Matrix clients (no searching, no pinning, no file upload, no edit, etc.). Plus Jitsi integration seems to be buggy right now (at least on my Windows installation).
What else is out there that's not on my radar? Is Matrix with Element really the best option right now? Is there no project that puts E2EE above all else?
Edit: Should be self-hostable and (FL)OSS.

The origial F-Droid app is extremely cumbersome to navigate with a remote. I'm hoping one of the clones has a layout that's more suitable for remote controls.
P.S.: Has anyone tried Obtainium on Android TV yet?
I know, I know, unangenehmes Thema und so.
I have a collection of German documentaries and ideally I'd like to make them available via Jellyfin. Is there a plugin to index those? Hell, is there even an index database for that type of thing?
I know this technically doesn't really qualify as !piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com, but I figured if anybody on Lemmy would know, it's you guys.
I have some old DVDs that never got a proper Blu-ray release. With all the fuzz about and the recent advancements in AI, what is the definitive best way to upscale to 1080p in 2023?
I'm looking for a clean version of Ableton Live (ideally 11, but anything older is fine too) for weeks now. But everything I download and send to VirusTotal.com is infected with all kinds of nasty malware.
Am I doing something wrong? Where does one get cracked audio software (for Windows) without malware?
