Was just about to post this. I read it in the 90s, expecting something more along the lines of a scifi Xanth style story. Got a traumatising, f'd up sexual fever dream. To this day some of the shit from that story pops in my head sometimes.

I like the food options. In the main one we have... some sort of giant measuring cup of possibly iced tea? And that last one in the comments seems to have an alien egg or nightmare fuel insect in the bowl. Good times. Also the photos on the wall are so candid and vibrant for the time frame. I remember large scale pictures displayed back then were professionally taken with a generic backdrop. Interesting what the AI comes up with.
Lots of good advice here. Just some extra tips from someone that's spent over 40yrs around cats. Keep in mind cats are all different. A toy one cat loves, another might have 0 interest in. Your cat may not respond to catnip or catnip alternatives. It may want to drink running water over still water. If it's a indoor cat, it might even be picky about the type of litterbox/litter used. It may live for cuddles and belly rubs or not like to be touched much at all beyond the occasional ear scratch (Generally though, the more it's handled at a really young age can help determine how much it enjoys that).
Try to stick with whatever food your cat was eating before you got it, and don't go crazy introducing treats, even natural options like raw meat/fish/offal. They can have really sensitive tummies and upsetting that balance can equal diarrhea everywhere. You can switch to a different brand/type of food but it needs to be a gradual transition to get them used to it first. Having dry food available 24-7 and wet food offered a couple times a day is the healthiest way to go, according to our vet.
For bedding, your cat will sleep wherever it wants, but sunny spots tend to be preferred, and if it's an actual pet bed, one that offers a bit of seclusion is usually a good idea. They're ambush predators, so they usually like the "cat cave" or semi enclosed styles of bedding. Cat window beds are pretty awesome for daytime lounging.
Like others have said, tree is a must. Get a decent pair of claw trimmers and learn how to use them. Touch/massage kitty's paws regularly if you can, so that it isn't a fight every time you need to do a trim.
Good luck with worm pills. Watch how your vet does it, watch some YouTube videos on other methods, and then mentally prepare for battle.
Almost forgot! I've never had a cat that didn't enjoy playing with the little plastic ring that's left on milk after you open it. Don't cut it off, try to leave it intact by prying it off with something like a butter knife. They tend to like the milk smell, it's easy for them to pick up both with paw or jaw, and it skitters nicely across tiles or wood. I've had 2 cats pick up "fetch" very quickly with those things.
I'm really looking forward to the possibility of having friendly banter with an AI similar to the interactions in "Her". I think it'd be cool to be able to go about mundane tasks while chatting away to an AI with a sense of humour.

Tidal Wave (2009) is a Korean disaster flick that has some of the most realistic tsunami scenes I've ever seen (some fun over-the-top ones too). Takes a while to get to the action, it makes sure you care about the characters before all hell breaks loose. Definitely worth checking out.
I love disaster films and I thought "Knowing" was great. I do think the ending could've been better, but everything up to that point was very entertaining.
It would be interesting to know how many people are using it for themselves. I'd think it would open up next level catfishing. I'm sure some people with photoshop skills we're already doing that to a certain extent, but now it's accessible to everyone.
I befriended a lawyer in a online game years ago. When he found out I took the bible literally, we had debates about it, and he'd break down some of the passages in Revelations and try to get me to justify stuff like dragons. It opened my eyes to how ridiculous some things were, and how there was a reason one of the first things we were taught (Baptist) was not to question anything.
How it seems every religion believes they're the "One True" religion, and the whole rest of the world is wrong. How throughout history, it's fueled wars, and been used as a method to control people more than a way to help people.
How some priests garb themselves in expensive robes and surround themselves with gold or drive luxury cars, or preach on TV from practically a stadium while passing around the donations plate through a crowd of poor people while promising a afterlife gated by pearls.
I'll stop here but yeah. It was actually a pretty devastating realisation for me, as religion was a huge part of my life up to that point.
