It's okay since I only buy games on sale ... oh wait, that doesn't matter as they still sit unplayed. Never mind.
You don't need divorce if you never get married. 👍
This is where we could use a browser plug in that uses AI to learn what an ad is and skip it for us. Now we just need someone to start working on it.
Next they will try and stop you from talking about book bans. Then they will try and convince you that there are no such things as book bans ... and so it goes.
The ending of SOMA. I sometimes watch it on youtube just to enjoy it again. Note: the ending won't mean anything to you if you don't already know the story.
I hope The Freedom From Religion Foundation gets involved with this in a big way.
Next they will be using your web cam to take pictures of you because ... reasons. Then they will turn on your mic and record so that if you verbalize thoughts that don't make it to your computer screen you can recall those too. Where does it end? I don't want to know.
I still can't afford it 😔
Unfortunately it doesn't matter. The government stopped representing the people a long time ago. We need to stick together. It is us vs. them, not one political ideology vs. another.
OpeNoise is one.. it will need calibration but if you weren't concerned about actual dB readings you could use it uncalibrated
I've heard YouTubers say they aren't making as much from their regular videos and that YouTube is pushing shorts. So the Youtubers have started to focus on shorts. I don't like short so I don't watch them.
PC running Linux with games purchased via Steam. Nothing extra to set up as the PC is always on and available anyway,
RSS (RDF Site Summary or Really Simple Syndication) It is in use a fair amount, but it is usually buried. Many people don't know it exists and because of that I am afraid it will one day go away.
I find it a great simple way to stay up to date across multiple web sites the way I want to (on my terms, not theirs) By the way, it works on Lemmy to :)
People need to stop thinking about Republicans vs. Democrats and starting think in terms of people vs. the government. We might be able to make positive change if we united.
Yes. You listen to music without knowing anything about who wrote it and you feel something. That feeling has nothing to do with the composer or performer. Now if you find out the composer/performer is a "bad" person, I would recommend not giving them any money that could contribute to them spreading their "bad stuff". I'd still enjoy the music because your enjoyment isn't furthering their bad agenda.
Another reason not to believe in anything supernatural.

After installing Firefox 123.0 I ran a Mullvad Connection check https://mullvad.net/en/check and found I had a DNS leak. I am notified to comments made on post I've made, but how can I "subscribe" to a post that someone else created? I'd like to be able to easily see additional comments as they are made.
I can kind of do this from my saved posts, but that means going and looking to see if there are any new comments on each of those. That isn't very useful.
Are there shortcut keys for the web version of Lemmy? I was looking for things like, "next page" or inside a thread "go to next high level post", those kind of things? Also like, "collapse all posts" or "expand all".
An update to Google's privacy policy suggests that the entire public internet is fair game for it's AI projects. If Google can read your words, assume they belong to the company now, and expect that they’re nesting somewhere in the bowels of a chatbot.

Since the Fedidverse is all connected, should I have one account for accessing both Lemmy and Mastodon or have separate accounts for each one (as I do now)?
