What's the best way to fill these holes in my laundry room?

My goal is to keep hot/cool air from seeping between floors. Is canned spray foam the way to go? Any recommendations? Pest resistance is a bonus.

How do I permanently get rid of this discolouration in my bathtub? (I have hard water)
  • Unfortunately we do have a water softener but for some reason, there's still buildup.

I've been seeing improvements with powdered bar keepers friend but it takes several passes and still comes back unfortunately.

  • A common way to wash many dishes is a tub of soapy water to clean off food, a tub of diluted bleach water to disinfect, and a tub of water to rinse the dishes. It's used by wilderness guides around the world.

  • Cyclists blame "utterly ridiculous bike prices" for brands' ongoing struggles
  • My city invests a ton of money into cracking down on car theft and increasing punishments. They are not investing into bike lockers or even racks. It's usually a "too bad" even for thefts of high value bikes unlike cars.

[RESOLVED] The plastic cylinder in my soap dispenser is loose and the soap no longer pumps. What's the best way to fix this? Super glue didn't hold.

EDIT: I ended up using epoxy. Thank you for the help.

  • Where do you find citric acid? I've been using white vinegar in a jar in my dishwasher which gets rid of all water spots and cleans better with my hard water. However, I'd like to find a place to purchase citric acid crystals without relying on Amazon.

  • Thanks for the info, do you know what the fixes would be, short of replacing the tub?

I've tried scrubbing it several times with bar keepers friend soft cleanser and although it improves, it never goes away completely and it always comes back.

  • I think it looks amazing already but if you still plan to add more leaves and colour to the tiger, do post again! 👌

  • Bulgogi tofu over basmati rice. Really happy with how it turned out after a couple substitutions.

    Here's the recipe I loosely followed: https://www.noracooks.com/vegan-bulgogi/#wprm-recipe-container-16541

My local shop was out of extra firm tofu so I made do with firm.

  • I think that's a bit excessive. !cablegore@zerobytes.monster

  • My friend's smart home setup!
  • I don't know. Hopefully not.

  • My friend's smart home setup!
  • Great points! I learned a few things.

Power cables should not be coiled unless you want induction loops, lower efficiency, and waste heat.

Ideally, the cables would be the minimum length needed as I understand it. For excess cables though, is there a better solution to organize it to avoid coiling?

  • My friend's smart home setup!
  • I agree, which is why I wouldn't use these services myself.

    My friend's smart home setup!

They were ok with me sharing.

Edit: Yeesh, no posts in this community for 4mo, then one admittedly mediocre setup pic and I get torn to shreds.

  • Is there someone in this community that is willing to test planters for me?
  • I'm interested too! Not PNW but I could cover shipping if its not outrageous. I'd love to see them if you are comfortable posting images here!

Bike storage cars being added to GO trains through Guelph

There may soon be more space for people taking their bicycle with them on Toronto-bound GO trains

Bike storage cars being added to GO trains through Guelph

Later this spring, Metrolinx officials plan to add five cars to cope with the increased demand along the line that goes through Guelph.

Those new train cars, which are to feature bike storage on the main level and passenger seating above, are expected to be added to the local line in mid- to late-May. Once that’s done, there will be a total of nine bike cars on the route.

This is being done in response to a “big uptick” in the number of people taking their bikes and e-bikes with them to Toronto along the Guelph line during the past year, explained Metrolinx spokesperson Andrea Ernesaks. .....

What worked to resolve my knee pain on indoor bike trainer - making sure both trainer feet were level!

I experienced knee pain only while on my trainer and after trying many other steps which usually would solve bike pain problems for me, I came across an unusual solution. My Wahoo Kickr feet have adjustable height and although they were fairly similar, the right Kickr foot was higher than the left one, which resulted in left knee pain. After adjusting the left one to match in height, the feeling of resistance in my knee and the pain that followed went away.

This is what I tried before which is probably more likely to solve your problem:

    • Bike fit (very important!)
    • Physio (also very important; weak hips and other mobility have caused me problems on-bike)
    • Ensuring distances between the front and rear axle and the floor were equal.
    • adding/removing pedal spacers (cleat position done by fitter)
    • decreasing load / slowing down / taking rest
    • eating more hummus (I like it, leave me alone.)

[Solved] What amp can I use with this speaker? (x2)

I have two of these passive speakers that I would like to connect to my TV. It really doesn't need to get super loud since I will be using it to watch tv/movies at a normal volume. My tv does have yellow/white rca audio out ports (not just audio in) as well as sigital out.

Can someone please recommend an amp and wires to attach these two with a priority on reliability and energy efficiency? I'm a noob at anything audio.

    !

Update: I found a used amp for cheap and they both sound great!
